I go back and forth on that On one had it kills at 0 so it is evil in a antagonist hands, but in a PC hands it really is just a 'clean up' thing... but it is flavorful. I am totally going to give a PC a longsword of disintegration at some point.

I don't think they have PC expectations for this, beyond, "play whatever Adventurer's League allows you to play".

Except UA Travelers of the Multiverse were also allowed.

I can kinda see a character or special NPC having one (with all the complications of "I will kill you so hard you will die to death"see pic)

But the thing that raised my eyebrow was that the guards have them. I mean sure, for certain levels/styles of game...

Makes sense I would just call them Orcs. But where did you get that impression anyway?
