How many decisions/points of input does a director have, and how many does an AI user have? It's as much art as directing is, and directing is an accepted art. Both a director and the AI artist are directing others to achieve a vision.

I have seen some ARTIST friends do pretty amazing things with Midjourney by tweaking and curating prompts and outputs over the course of hours. It might not be the same thing as painting but it also isn't nothing.Yeah, seriously. People who claim to be "prompt creators/artists" are kidding themselves.
Absolutely. The fact that corporations in America were the ones that were able to get it increased shows who it's benefiting.I agree. However, we should definitely shorten the copyright period.
I have played around with generating prompts with AI art. It is more than just clicking a button, but it's also way less than actually drawing the image yourself. That doesn't make it an art.I feel like a lot of this "it's just clicking a button!" attitude comes from people who have never used it and don't have the first idea of what it takes to get a thing you want.
You'll note I did not say that. I said AI art was art if someone pointed at it and called it art. That's the definition.I have played around with generating prompts with AI art. It is more than just clicking a button, but it's also way less than actually drawing the image yourself. That doesn't make it an art.
"No ethical consumption under capitalism" isn't a justification or excuse for bad things happening. It's a problem that should be solved. And should not be used to dismiss concerns about the ethics of a new technology.
A requirement to disclose this would be great but I'm not sure we can expect that from US regulatory agencies. So in that case, we are reliant on corporations to disclose honestly. And, you know...It is easy to solve, just don't buy anything produced using AI or robotics.
And you think removing intellectual property rights is going to help keep corps in check?
Who has all the capital and distribution to capitalize on this, your average mom and pop ....
That's going to be much harder once all the major corporations replace writers, extras, authors, painters/graphic designers, and music writers with AI. And also doesn't relate to your idea of "just get rid of copyright".It is easy to solve, just don't buy anything produced using AI or robotics.
