I agree with this, having a "big reveal" that required watching the whole of TCW to understand was not good writing (were the Mortis episodes even included in the watch list?) A few Easter eggs might be fun, but hanging the whole climax of the show on one is a whole new level of dumb.

Imagine you don’t know who or what those statues are. Now you have a big mystery with a really cool visual to end the season with.

Presumably they will explain this in season two. It’s honestly a fairly standard serial story telling device. A hook to get audiences to watch next season.

It’s maybe a bit unoriginal but hardly dumb.

Plus it feeds the conversation in the community for those who do know and drives views of older shows for those who care enough to go back into the D+ catalog.

this is like, my opinion.....but it really felt empty and way too much the first part of a story, and not a season to me. I admit that I might now read the Thrawn books by Zahn, but I am very unlikely to go watch a bunch of cartoons that so far I've somehow not watched despite everyone I know recommending them.

The statues were not Baylan's destination. He was looking into distance, at the volcano on the horizon. The statues could well be easter eggs to long-time viewers. We saw lots of gargantuan statues over Peridea earlier in the season.

And if the Mortis gods are a big focus, I don't think it is "unfair" of Ahsoka's producers. Ahsoka is a major character of The Clone Wars, and a significant character in Rebels. It is fair to expect a series focussed on a character to reference that character's previous appearances and adventures in other series.

Generic points below.

A few setups for season 2 which is fair enough.

Thrawn as a genius is really hard to set up I suppose at least until he takes command of a fleet or something.

As we saw onscreen he respects what Jedi can to and is generally one step ahead of Ahsoka. The writing wasn't the best at establishing it.

The Zahn books did that but we haven't really seen Thrawn as a grand admiral in any great capacity. Rebels didn't do the best portrayal I suppose not sure. His 0
plans went wrong because of factors outside his control basically the force and idiot subordinates. He's learnt about the force the hard way.

So he's heading to Dathomir presumably to reanimate night sisters or whatever. Mount Tantis is still out there in New canon.

So I guess in the movie or following season he needs to smash a few new republic fleets and damn near bring it down using inferior forces not pulling out a super weapon or relying to much on the force.

There's an unaccounted for super star destroyer out there plus whatever is left of Gideons forces if any plus whatever the other imperial Remnants have.

One of those remnants is also linked to the First Order.

I kind of enjoyed this show, but it was glacially slow, and simply didn't have enough plot. And yes, Andor had the same problem.

Comparing Ahsoka and Andor hurts my brain. They aren't even in the same conversation. Andor is one of the best TV shows of the past decade, an instant classic. Ahsoka is just more D+ content.

More likeable characters? Andor had meaningful characters. It had the best Star Wars villain since Vader. It had a believable protagonist who underwent vast character growth and development. It had meaningful themes. It had narrative cohesion. And it is the only property in the Entire Star Wars franchise that actually makes the Empire truly terrifying, by showing that the true horror is not some cackling supervillain but the grinding monotony of a totalitarian regime obsessed with order.

I bought into every scene in Andor.

Ahsoka isn't bad. It looks really good, and there were some mildly entertaining action sequences (though in general, Jedi do not make for super exciting action). Love the cast. None of it really amounted to much, though. A lot of it concerned plot points that happened in a cartoon that I never watched; for example, I could care less about Ezra Bridger, because the series I was watching never made him meaningful. He's just some dude that one of the protagonists was willing to risk billions of lives over, which by any reasonable moral compass would make her a monster, but instead gets her a pat on the back.

Throw away line from Ezra in final.

He woke up the Nightsisters. Those boxes there's approximately 4800-5000 in Chimera hold.

They also had lights on them. Not all the lights were blinking.

So there's the possibility the caskets have hibernating Nightsisters.

Baylan was also looking towards a mountain with a light on it.

Wonder if he gets redemption arc via Morai while Shins the evil one. If it's Abeloth or something like her she likes possessing people. Sabine saus sonething about shadows and starlight (Abeloth Queen of Stars)

Rewatching the Imperial Remnant thing from Mando 3 there're very cagey on the NR not knowing their true strength. So they might have more than what we expect. Missing SSD and Mount Tantiss clones are also possibly in play (Aftermath trilogy, Bad Batch). Not impossible there's more dark troopers out there or Gideon survived.

Final tidbit Dathomir is fairly close to Mandalore. Essentially next door neighbors.

Palpatine could also hear something calling to him much like Baylan.

Now this I find very hard to understand. You spent the time watching Ahsoka, but begrudge the time to watch what is basically the same thing but far superior.

Yeah, we are never going to agree on this. Andor was slow motion pretentious garbage, led by someone who doesn't know the difference between acting and mumbling.
