That's a shame. Although I have some quibbles with even the two good movies they did, this was a stellar cast.
There's still talk about it, from what I'm hearing. I'm not optimistic though.I'm quite sure Chris Pine has also said there be another Star Trek movie with him as Kirk again, but that hasn't happened yet.
There are some films with great looking CGI that cost a LOT less than Quantumania. If Marvel's CGI budget is getting stretched to the breaking point with stuff like Quantumania, I think we might want to wait a computer generation or two before asking a D&D movie to attempt to do better.
Please no.I’d love a sequel that involved visiting other planes. Kind of like Marvel Multiverse, but better and more outrageous.
For something on the scale that was suggested, it's going to need a lot of CGI, which is why Quantumania ran into trouble -- just too much to do with the staff and time allowed. There are some films with great looking CGI that cost a LOT less than Quantumania.
Better that they follow in the footsteps of Vox Machina and do a Planescape animated series, if they're going to use it at all. Let the live action movies be a bit more grounded and reasonably budgeted. For something on the scale that was suggested, it's going to need a lot of CGI, which is why Quantumania ran into trouble -- just too much to do with the staff and time allowed.
On second thought, that should probably be The Hunt for the Red (Wizard's) Phylactery ...D&D: The Hunt for Szass Tam's Phylactery
