AI backlash has become the Satanic Panic of the 2020's. I'm quite tired of it already.

Funnily enough, I was looking at some old 2E artwork for FR last night and ran across a couple pieces that made me doubletake as they had some of sort of errors you'd see in modern AI art. They were an Easley and Roslof piece respectively, though I forget the specific ones. Had a bit of a laugh for a minute as apparently I've been looking at/creating so much AI art lately it's obviously creeping into my brain space.

Honestly, the fact that he immediately provided proof otherwise will probably make any harm minimal. He'll be seen as the victim in this and will probably have some good publicity as a result.
I have to admit, that while I never once thought it was AI generated, I was somewhat ambivalent on the piece until I saw the process art. Nestor is very talented!

Another Plus to the AI controversy: WotC is starting to print credits for each individual piece directly next to the piece, rather than a big ol' group of artists on the credit page. Now we'll know who did what more easily!

There is a very vocal side of the ttrpg community that will jump to any conclusion if it means defecating on WotC and then ride on the coattails of D&D and it's all very frustrating.

Yes, WotC makes mistakes and, regardless of how minor they are, they are BIG mistakes because WotC is big.

But, also; No, WotC isn't some Bond-level super-villain. These teams are full of people who care because of their love for games.

Finally, yes, we should pressure them to fix mistakes when they make them as they are still mistakes and as the industry leader they need to not only be held accountable but also set the standard.

Actually, they've been doing that in the books for years. It was hard to see at first, as they were small print near the binding, but it has been there for some time now.

Apparently seeing the WiP isn't proof enough for some...
