So, Falen senses that the magical trap tied to the teleportation circle of the Ancients and the living altar will unleash a powerful effect similar to a chain lightning spell that will initially target any character that damages the circle or destroys the living altar. The lightning will arc to the next closest character, friend or foe. The magical trap automatically resets, so if the floor is damaged more than once or the floor is damaged and then the altar is destroyed, the trap will go off again.
Falen also knows that the floors and walls of the portal room are magically-treated, which protects them from being damaged. The floors and walls are allowed a saving throw against any spell or effect that might damage them. However, only damage to the four squares where the teleportation circle is located will set off the trap.
Falen knows that Phelix's portal is feeding on both the djinni and the living altar. It has drained away almost all of Eeldai's hit points and around 25% of the altar's hit points. As noted in my IC post, if the portal is targeted with healing magic, it will heal the djinni. Normally, such magic would heal both her and the altar, but the construct has been resisting such healing magic, so that it all goes to her.
The construct feels guilty that it didn't act when she was initially trapped in the room by her foe 483 years ago (Bluffside time). That's roughly equal to 8 years in the labyrinth. Falen also senses that the knight has been in the labyrinth for roughly 100 years (Bluffside time). For him, it has only felt like around 1 to 2 years.
Falen knows that the altar is the source of the time dilation. The construct was created by the Ancients eons ago and placed in the portal room as a guardian/watcher. Normally, the time dilation is set to the following: one second is equal to thirty seconds on the Material Plane. Phelix changed it to the highest setting: one second is equal to one minute. The altar's lowest setting is one second is equal to two seconds.
Changing the setting is only a DC 15 Use Magic Device check, but requires a standard action to do so.
During Falen's contact with the living altar, he sees several faces including that of the Renegade. These are the memories of the altar. He sees a different man who he knows was the creator of the labyrinth, Aphogorin. He sees a man dressed in the grab of a necromancer. The man's name was Straevok. However, Falen gets no other information about either of them.
There are other faces as well: men and women of various races and one creature that looks like it might be fiendish.
