I wonder if there is any chance she will end up in the new Rey movie?
Yeah, if she shows up in live action it's more likely in the Mandalorian/Ahsoka period. NJO really is a next generation. To get an idea, Omega is about 12 years older than Luke Skywalker. While I would rarely say "it's impossible", if Wookiepedia is correct in their timeline, Omega would have been born 32 BBY, and Rey's New Jedi Order would be formed 50 ABY. If we do get Omega, she would be around 82 years old…
I know this is fantasy. However, the idea that the Kaminoans took the DNA of a Polynesian-looking person and enhanced it to look European instead does not sit well with me. I am hoping there is more to the story here – namely, that Omega is not actually a Fett clone. She was developed, like Alpha (Boba) as a genetic copy of Jango (and I believe grows at a normal rate like him). However she is supposed to enhanced too. I am not sure of the exact timeline of her development, but perhaps her name could be referring to the prototypes of the clones? Once the Kamonians perfected the process they might have then gone on to grow them?
Yeah, I remember that. Perhaps you are right that she was the last of a series of prototypes. It was stated in the show that Omega was working in the lab with Nala Se and was there to see the creation of Clone Force 99, so she is indeed older than them.
Anakin Skywalker clone anyone?I am hoping there is more to the story here – namely, that Omega is not actually a Fett clone.
Or they're going to completely trash the Tantiss facility and kill Dr Hemlock, and the Emperor will pick up the research from a backup facility - one that doesn't have any record of Omega's significance. Here's how I see it:
Thanks to The Mandalorian, we know that Dr Hemlock did not succeed in using Omega as an M count donor for Project Necromancer because the Imperial Remnants were seeking to use Grogu for that same purpose as of the New Republic era.
This means that Omega either dies or she goes into hiding (perhaps on Tanalorr), with the Empire believing her to be dead through the New Republic era.
I suspect this is the most likely outcome. Perhaps the Emperor’s backup plan involves genetic material from Master Yoda?Or they're going to completely trash the Tantiss facility and kill Dr Hemlock, and the Emperor will pick up the research from a backup facility - one that doesn't have any record of Omega's significance.
I hope not. I prefer the idea that, while Omega was engineered to facilitate the cloning of Force-sensitives and therefore her blood can stabilise the M-count of a cloned subject, she isn't herself Force-sensitive. This show has managed to be the story of people other than Sith and Jedi, and making Omega a secret Jedi feels like it would cheapen it.Anakin Skywalker clone anyone?
One possibility that occurred to me was a tie-in to one of the early Rebels episodes, Rise of the Old Masters. In that one, the Empire has been keeping Jedi Master Luminara Unduli's corpse preserved as bait so that her residual presence can draw in Jedi. Perhaps the original reason for her preservation - and probably that of other Jedi killed during Order 66 - was to use their tissue in support of Project Necromancer.I suspect this is the most likely outcome. I don’t think she is. So far as I can tell the experiment was to add midichorians to the clone blood samples - most of the clones rejected them. The point is to find a way to create a clone that does not reject midichlorians.I hope not.
