ACP from a shield is only applied while in use. That doesn't mean the shield doesn't add to encumbrance though. The weight of the shield adds to the total that is considered for encumbrance which can apply it's own penalties. (so it isn't disregarded, it is counted by weight). Sean

Fair enough, and if you wait on taking Oracle until that point... well, yeah... okay, I will concede that point. Sean

Unfortunately, while that is a great combo, dipping into oracle doesn't work for the Barbarian as you need to get to lvl 5 in Oracle to get this benefit. So while you could make a Oracle/Barbarian build that works great around this, or even an Oracle that dips into Barbarian for two levels...
