This might be a bit of an odd request, but a friend of mine is running a 3.5 game and I was telling him about a group of wizards that lived in the frigid north but would go around without a shirt or anything because magic generated heat. I'm pretty sure it's scarred lands and the land of...
It extends out 15' in all directions from the caster. If your using 5' squares then it's 7 squares wide and includes the square the caster is in. It radiates from the caster, so no trying to game the system and squeeze in with the caster to avoid the effects. Remember it only effects your...
If you want something more like the 2nd movie, the Kruthik could make a good monster.
Imagine the players are exploring an ancient tomb with only a few traps and puzzles here and there. They get to the bottom and disturb something that releases the stasis on all of the Kruthik that had managed...
Random thought. Since one of the fighters schticks is action surge, what if somewhere in there they were allowed to use a second bonus action a round? Maybe anytime or maybe whenever they use the attack action they are allowed a second bonus action. That would allow TWF fighters to benefit...
You could always keep the same mechanic and call it a destruction save. As they struggle to keep their spirit together after taking too much damage. Fail and their spirit is destroyed forever. Stabilize and they've kept it together, for now.
What about a simple static damage bonus applied to all attacks? That should move them closer to the theorycraft balance while still keeping in line with the old school (weapons specialization) simplicity.
I disagree in that it appears that you are stuck on them being Dragonborn. Considering that they look nothing like the one dragon on Athas it's much easier to look at that race as simply an elementally(a strong theme in DS) touched race of lizard(common in a desert) men. Nothing about their...
I read it the other way in that they would produce a Xanathar like book for any setting that they produce. A book that explains the setting, and shows you how to fit the core 3 into it to include what options fit, what doesn't, and how to change things to make them fit.
The problem with that though is that even abandoning a system will upset some fans to the point of desertion. They really are darned if they do and darned if they don't.
With a little reflavoring almost everything from the players handbook can be fit into any setting.
Teiflings and the planes being severed, they're humans from a tribe from the deep desert where they have been warped by the harsh environment. We have giants with snake heads, some horns on a...
