    13th Age Core Book

4 out of 5 rating for 13th Age Core Book Characters are mechanically tied into the arc of the campaign, monsters are easy to run (or build) and are lots of fun, and the character options are strong for a first book--if you like casters. Additional sources (both official and homebrew) remedy...

    What's cooking for 13th Age?

That's a good question-- I've gotten a friend interested in 13th Age, but he prefers to buy almost any media through Amazon, so was disappointed when he couldn't find the game on the Amazon site.

    Your best 13th Age thing

I voted "Other"-- for me, it's where the heroic characters of 4E meet class-specific mechanics ala 3E meet streamlined rules and combat meet the character and campaign possibilities of Icons, Backgrounds, and One Unique Thing-- it's hard to choose just one!

D&D 5E Too many cooks (a DnDN retrospective)

$E is what brought me back to D&D after years of WoD, HERO, or nothing... but at first, I, too, found the characters uninspiring (no supernatural melee close combat options that weren't being a heavily armored, really religious character class? races were very human seeming... unless they were...

D&D 5E Warforged, Changelings, and Thri Kreen in the PHB?

Nice list(s)! One small quibble: Shifters are a 4E PH2 Race, and also are prominent in later 4E FR material (Neverwinter Campaign Setting), so they would be in the second list.

D&D 5E PCs Making Their Own Magic Items

"Special Quest"... but I would prefer items that are story-based "MacGuffins," with NO impact on the character's capabilities, rules-wise-- or that every Character/Class might need a "Special Quest" (involving an item or not) to exercise epic level abilities. Maybe a Wizard needs to wrest an...

    Tuatha De Danann PCs?

D&D 4E's Heroes of the Feywild has a character theme (sort of a second class-or-race-or-background you get at level 1) called Tuathan. They are described as an ancient race of human-like conquerors native to the faerie realm. Possible features and powers of this theme include heightened...

    D&D 5E Maybe D&D Should Branch?

This is very close to how I feel about it-- do Next as a BECMI/1E/2E update, tweak 4E (which might include excising feat, power, and item bloat--as well as MM1 era sack-o-HP monsters-- and including Essentials Classes and Hybrids in a new PH1 etc.)... and cede 3.5 to Paizo/Pathfinder.

    D&D 5E Druids power source for 5e

So, you are saying only the godly are moral, and only because of potential consequences? I'm speaking of characters, of course.

    D&D 5E Druids power source for 5e

I voted "primal," but what I really want is "nature" being the source of their power, separate and different from divine/gods.

Wo only need the druid class!

Make the Warden a sub-class (tradition, scheme whatever) of Druid that removes Wild Shape/Animal Companion, and gives greater weapon proficiency, increased hit points/dice and a slight bonus to AC. Change all area affect spells to originating with (or adjacent to) the Warden and range spells to...

    D&D 4E What 5E needs to learn from 4E

As primarily a 4E player, I agree-- just let me take the same encounter, utility, and daily as many times as I qualify for (non-4E players: imagine a mid- or high-level caster who can't choose any duplicate spells except cantrips/orisons). Aside from speeding up things during combat, by reducing...

That's no Sorcerer, that's a Paladin (of Bahamut) kinda.. sorta

Yep. Along with fiery/elemental magic, the Sorcerer's armor/weapons emulate the claws/scales of a dragon. Other bloodlines will have other things, that make them play/fight like their kin (I think/hope).
