The VOIDRUNNER'S CODEX is coming! Explore new worlds, fight oppressive empires, fend off fearsome aliens, and wield deadly psionics with this comprehensive boxed set expansion for 5E and A5E!
Whilst one Five-headed-Chromatic-Dragon-Queen Goddess is of course rather similar to another Five-headed-Chromatic-Dragon-Queen Goddess.
I always felt Takhisis had more of a unique identity as the Queen of the Evil Gods and somewhat of a different personality to Tiamat as she is portrayed in...
The trouble with Darkvision in 5E is the more liberal you are with it, the more powerful it gets and too easy to let it just be "you can see in the dark for 60'"
Critically it fails my criteria for a "simple reading check".
A player or DM who isn't really very rules focused will read the entry...
In principle I'm not opposed to this change.
I think player/monster symmetry is by far over valued am I am very happy we're far from the rabbit hole that 3E ended up in.
Likewise I personally prefer Critical Hit = Maximum damage that could have been rolled rather than rolling double damage...
My orcs are pale skinned, often chalk white.
A significant proportion of a Northern archipelago are currently united under the Iron Empress, a culture that's becoming increasingly expansionist and militaristic.
The Orcs of the Iron Empire have a reputation for being engaged in an erratic mix...
I've spent the last twenty odd years being militantly anti-alignment but I've mellowed and am now somewhat less evangelical about the position. Probably in part because 4E and 5E massively cut down the mechanical implications of Alignment which made it easier to run games without a very weird...
Depends, in your world is there a spiritual stain left upon items used for partially holy/unholy purposes?
As Shiroiken points out, people who recognise the weapon might jump to conclusions.
I mean it might be fun for it to provide disturbing dreams etc.
It is a strong contested for "rule most likely to be forgotten".
I think the thing here is to look at your turn as a whole.
If you have done a thing that restricts which actions you can take on your turn (by saying you can't or by saying it requires a certain type of action), then it doesn't...
I actually made a list of every reference I could find to bludgeoning, slashing or piercing damage on this thread:
Mostly I think they exist due to heritage and mostly skeletons mostly wanting to be bashed rather than stabbed... because it's their big monster thing.
It's interesting that in the playtest, the Druid seemed to switch between the "use the actual animal stats" and "here are some abstracted stats", and I was surprised they went with "use the actual stats" for the final release.
Personally I absolutely love Wildshape, although it can be a...
In short. Yes, they have nerfed it.
Although actually running the numbers, it's not quite as much as I maybe first thought.
1) It's an optional rule in the DMG, "Depending on the style of your campaign and the particular backgrounds and interests of the adventurers, you can make some or all of...
Take the "1 interact with an object" rule and throw it under a bus.
Personally I think the "interacting with object" rule is vastly more restrictive than it needs to be, and is rather out of place with the rest of 5E rules.
Many of the most common interactions with items—drawing or sheathing a...
In the last campaign I ran the players started off as 0-level teenagers from a mountain goat herding village who stumbled across the tomb of some ancient heroes and after being killed by the resident wight (they got better) they were infused with their power, knowledge and on occasion memories...
