Is switching hands a free action?

When it comes to Swordmages and switching hands with versatile weapons, we are ultimately talking about an increase of Swordmage damage output of 1 point vs the Swordmage swinging the weapon one handed. Is this overpowered? Not by any stretch of the imagination. I would imagine the WotC...

    Best Weapon for a Swordmage?

Wow, and here I've been missing out on that rule for months. Thanks :)

    Best Weapon for a Swordmage?

I'm a big fan of the Khopesh for my swordmage. The Brutal property has paid big dividends for me in my games. Using a spiked shield is an interesting proposition, but wouldn't that require two feats (one for light shield prof, one for spiked shield) in order to gain the benefits? +1 AC/Reflex...

Does brutal affect magic weapon d6s on a crit?

Rule regarding Brutal property is as follows: Good question... I would rule that since the extra damage is a function of the weapon itself, it is part of "the weapon's damage" and thus you would "reroll any die" as the rules state.

Spiked Shield = win (I think)

Or you could go with a shield fighter with tide of iron, and then multi into Ranger for some juicy exploits.

    The Videogame comparison

Nope, I have no problems with Come and Get it. On the contrary, I love it. So, please don't accuse me of disliking something that I actually favor. What I do have problems with are people thinking that it's not a power Monsters can get and that therefore it means PC vs PC. Is Come and Get It...

    The Videogame comparison

This is hardly the realm of PvP when the DM can just apply a Fighter Template (DMG 183) to the Monster...

Drow Cloud of Darkness and Darkfire, one or both?

It might also prevent people from, in the future, Polymorphing into a Drow just to gain Drow racial feats or other similar shenanigans.

Elf High Mage (Magic Item Cost)

Or, you could always let them do it so they create a glut of epic level magic items in the world. Suddenly, the bad guys they are facing start showing up all epically armed because they bought it off the free (or black) market. That would teach the players a good lesson ;)

[Practical Tactical] Provoking Opportunity Attacks for more Damage;Use that Defender!

Just for clarification, this article does not advocate making a movement of One. Please note that the initial diagram clearly states "PC continues their Move action." The article distills the movement down to the instance that a player triggers an OA, which happens to be when the player leaves...

    Craghammer Twin Strike Madness

I think there was a discussion on Dwarven Weapon Training the other day, and that most felt that it gave dwarf characters proficiency with all hammers and axes, so you could take it at Level 1 and dual wield the Craghammers.

    Poll: Drow PC's

Well, it depends on what region on Forgotten Realms the campaign takes place. If it's the Dragon Coast, for example, I think they would fit in just fine!

    Warlord and Tactical Shift

Since it is an immediate interrupt, it supersedes the trigger hit. As for the ranged attack and the OA, that's a very intriguing scenario. I would rule: Yes, the warlord would interrupt the attack, the target could shift next to the enemy, the ranged attack tries to resolve but triggers the...

    Warforge in LFR

I ran Core 1-3 for the RPGA group here about two weeks ago :) Good times. Even if the warforged was a creation from Gond, or any other means, I think they would be as rare, if not rarer than seeing a Drow walking around in the streets, so I would think having the citizenry stare at a Warforged...

Fighter's Mark makes DM combat less fun

The 9 attack scenario is just theoretical, not something that actually happens :) I just added 8 possible OAs from 8 opponents, and one combat challenge attack per round for a total of 9 theoretical hits. If you want an actual scenario, it could go something like: - 8 Kobolds surround you, all...
