Okay, it's more or less finished now.

I'm shooting for a pixar-style stylized realism. My issue is not a lack of good textures, but applying them correctly. Also, the image there is an OpenGL view, not a real render. It'll look alot more realistic when finished. Which isn't to say I'm not always looking for new sources for...

The graininess is a result of the unfinished textures. It should be smoother once it is done.

Modeling is pretty much done, but the textures have a long way to go.

I'm fond of Eagle Game's American Civil War. Unlike many wargames, it pays attention to the political aspects of the war, which were fairly essential.

How much art do you need? And are you willing to pay?

I'm thinking of having mass battles as skill challenges, with the completion of a tactical mission counting as a successful check. Also, next time I run a campaign with allot of mass combat, I think I'll write up a General paragon path, that will allow the warlord to effect an entire army.

Wall-E and The Fall are top, though I'll likely watch Kung Fu panda once it is at the dollar theatre.

D&D is based far more on movies than reality.

It was bad. The first one was a tolerable movie if you forgot that it was based on the book. Not with the second.

Magic cards are somewhat more forgiving than book illustrations, due to size. Still, if they brought in John Howe for D&D I'd be very, very happy.

What interior art I've seen is, on average, very good. The cover art, less so.

The timetable is actually only slightly worse than typical for an independent movie. Finding distributors takes time. Also, given that the film was made with the express permission and often the financial support of all the game companies that could potentially sue, I doubt there were any legal...
