D&D General Rules from other systems to use in D&D

Hello everyone. With the announcement of D&D One, let us talk about improving the rule system for D&D. I am curious, Are there any rules from other systems that you think should be implemented in the new version? For me, there are two. Having played many games over more than 40 years, I...

    D&D 5E Best investigator builds

Hello everyone. I am curious, what are your best investigator builds? If you were building a team of private detectives what would you make? There is the obvious Wizard PI (AKA Dresden) build. Some sort of tough guy / takes a beating and keeps going build, probably a fighter of some sort. Let...

D&D 5E What new linages do you want?

Expanding on the unchanged template idea, if you choose this you are a paragon of your race. You are the dwarfest dwarf that ever dwarfed. The Elfest elf that ever elfed. etc. This would be great for people who really want to fully explore what a race can do. Using the dwarf as an example...

D&D 5E What new linages do you want?

OP here. Lots of great ideas, everyone. One I will throw into the mix is a ghost linage/template. I have no idea how it would work, but it would be cool. The way this discussion is going I see picking your race as being two choices. 1) Pick your linage - human, elf, dwarf etc. 2) Pick your...

D&D 5E What new linages do you want?

Bear people would be great. I love bears; they are one of my favourite types of animals. I think having an option to make your linage undead is a great idea. You want an undead human, slap the undead template on. A cat person who is also undead. Undead template. Thinking about this...

Very cool. That is a great idea for a linage.

D&D 5E What new linages do you want?

Hello everyone. What would you make if you were allowed to create a new linage for the 5th edition? I would create a dog person. We have many cat people; we need dog people to balance things out. If Wizards of the Coast wanted to be more daring, they could create a way for you to choose your...

    D&D 5E Favorite Unusual Races/Lineages

Now that is a race I have not thought of in a long while. So it would be nice if they made a comeback. I remember them. Never played one but my party went against one once. That Bladeling NPC was nasty, almost killed the entire party.

    D&D 5E Favorite Unusual Races/Lineages

Yes, I have. I played a Tortle Wizard about 2 years ago. I played a Lizard Person fighter before that. I have a changeling soul knife ready to go and am currently playing an Assimiar Celestial Warlock. Before I moved I also played a Genasi Bard. He was fun.

Wemic's are great. What book are they published in? I have not seen them on D&D Beyond, and I own everything there.

    D&D 5E Favorite Unusual Races/Lineages

My favourite race from 2e. I hope they come to this edition soon. I never played one, but they sound cool. So hopefully, they will make it to this edition officially.

    D&D 5E Favorite Unusual Races/Lineages

Changelings are fantastic. Right now they would be #6 on my list, but depending on the day they can go right up to #2. For a spy-type game, there is no better race. I also love them as assassins. A changeling Soul Knife is scary good.

    D&D 5E Favorite Unusual Races/Lineages

Good question Scribe. I will define unusual as any race/lineage not in the players' handbook for the purpose of this question. So humans, elves, dwarves, halflings etc. are normal. Something like a lizardfolk, that is unusual.

    D&D 5E Favorite Unusual Races/Lineages

Hello everyone. I am curious, what are your favourite unusual races/lineages? Why those races? I will go first. My top 5 in order are: 1) Tortle - Mechanically robust (17 AC to start is excellent for spellcasters) Interesting racial backstory. For me, they are just fun. 2) Lizardfolk -...
