Taking nominations for best RPG Podcasts of 2018!

I'm voting for Fandible podcast. It is primarily an actual play using a variety of different system. The group has great chemistry and is fun to listen to. They each have different GM styles so each campaign offers a unique listening experience that ranges from casual beer and pretzel to intense...

    An "Insightful" Question

Failure is you can't get any read on the person. I would answer a failure with you see no reason to think they're lying. Sometimes I'll give them knowledge that it is a lie for free because why they are lying is more important than the lie itself.

    Seeking multigenre rpg system

I'd take a look at Forthright RPG. It does most of the things you are listing. It is a d20+attribute with skills that adjust the level of success instead of being a flat number. It uses a health pool and injury system. You can pick it up a copy of the book here...

Burning Questions: What's the Worst Thing a DM Can Do?

It's probably been said, but I think not showing up, cancelling at the last minute or showing up and cancelling are the worst things the GM can do. This is assuming the GM doesn't have a good reason. Even if it is a good reason, I would probably suggest putting the game on hold or switching DM...

Do you enjoy playing roleplaying games in which you have no clue about the rules?

I would have to know the GM and even then I could only put up with a one-shot or short campaign. Where the boundaries are for physics and magic can easily ruin the gaming experience for me. I'd probably rather not play without knowing the rules or based setting for risk of something occurring...

How Do Mobile Devices Affect Your Game?

That is where I sit on the issue as well. I am fine with using electronic devices to help support gameplay. It is very aggravating to have to constantly repeat things because a player decides to check out of the game until their turn came back around. With that said, just like I don't pick up...

How Do Mobile Devices Affect Your Game?

As long as people switch their phones to vibrate I have no problem with people using cell phones. I use my laptop to run games. I use OneNote for all my notes and xMind for mind maps for session notes.

D&D 5E Best way to order abilities?

How does one make (edit) good plans without logic and deductive reasoning?

D&D 5E Holiday Challenge: Vow of the Silent Knight

This... This has so much awesome in it. You've just mothballed all my plans for my next game session.

D&D 5E Best way to order abilities?

SCDIWC Partly due to 4e, but more because Dexterity and Intelligence seem like similar abilities. They're neuro network abilities and represnt how quicky and efficiently you have thoughts, make decisions and turn both into actions.

D&D 5E Are you currently happy with Dragon+?

I don't see much value in Dragon+ since it started. This post prompted me to check it out again and I realized I had it installed already--which sort of shows my interest in it.

    D&D 5E World-Building DMs

I could see having jigglypuff or pennywise as nickname--cruel and oddball childhood nicknames just stick sometimes. Pennywise would be fine for a last name as well. I like odd names because they're easy to remember; I'm willing to consider if they can be made to fit the mood and tone before I...

D&D 5E What settings would you like to see full support for?

Seeing that Sigil exists, I suppose they could claim that all of their settings are in FR if they wanted.

D&D 5E Minis and no grid?

I prefer to use theater of the mind. I will switch minis with no grid or use a grid and be liberal if someone complains too much. That only really happens because of flanking. (I'm so glad 5e doesn't have 3e/4e flanking rules.)

D&D 5E Does Eberron need to be high fantasy?

I ran an adventure based off the Great Train Robbery. It turned out pretty well. I wish I would have had time to turn it into an ongoing thing.
