Role Playing Quandry for my Cleric

To be fair to the DM - and the entire group - this situation sort of caught us by surprise. As a christmas present the DM gave each of us a "raise yourself" for coupon redeamable at time of death. The first 2, the Monk and the Bard were killed in a battle with an evil cleric, who animated...

Role Playing Quandry for my Cleric

Been a while since I last posted - so I apologize if this is in the wrong forum (none of the others seemed appropriate) and feel free to move it. I have a cleric in weekly campaign who worships a God whose aspects include woods and animals. (The theology is based off of a pantheon where all the...

    Labelling April Fools

I too have a dislike for April Fools day. Sure most of the time it is good clean fun - but to often people take it as a free pass to make their attempts at humor - and asking things to be labled as "humor" is really not to much to ask. I have to admit - when I got on to EN World this morning...

Help me swing my players away from clerics

I would like to highlight the who concept of clerics worshipping different deities. You state that they all play "compatible" gods. First off, I would question this - Gods (IMO) tend to be vain, egocentric entities who's prime motivation is to extend the sphere of influence. So, sure, gods...

Have computer games ruined table RPGs?

I would say, in a word - no. CRPGs are basically a box - you are allowed to do a failry broad set of actions inside that box - whereas with RPGs - there is no box. Secondly, when I play a computer game I am looking at anothers person's interpretation of a world - whereas with a RPG - I paint...

Is D&D a lifestyle for you?

I voted for "Its a small but important part of my life" - Since this was the closest fit. As many others have said, being married with 3 kids really puts a damper on ones free time - thus I consider it one of my entertainment options - but not the only one and on equal footing with finishing my...

    Our world, without people?

On the flip side - Roman roads are still in great shape today - so alot has to do with the quality of manterials and constructions - after all, the Roman Legionairre never had to deal with Lowest Bid Contractors :D

"sleeper" spells you didn't realize were so good

and while it is nasty for PC's to use - it is particularly nasty for DMs to use.... especially for a 4th level spell. Oh, and yea they do stack - and stack nicely - just make sure you don't hit undead with it :o

"sleeper" spells you didn't realize were so good

Enervation is a wonderfull spell Ray attack targets loses 1d4 levels - no save - Oh and if they happen to be a high level Mage - bye bye 1d4 highest level spell. My DM used to hate this spell - If my mage won initiative, I could pretty much neutralize the opposing mage (or at least limit his...

The Art of Eberron: AWESOME new WOTC Update!

A bit of a clarification - The Native American Tribes never saw the horse until it was introduced by the Europeans. The Stirrup was invented long before this - the Parthian - in about 400 AD or so....IIRC That all being said, your basic premise is correct - it is quite a bit easier to refine...
