I think the face is not right in this one, April was moving when I drew it. So the angles on the cheeks and eyes are off. Plus I haven't master drawing the cheak bioones or the shadows/hightlights yet.... I need to sort it out.

Again any advice is welcome, but you can just comment if you want.

I can't tell from the scan, but it seems like you may have focused on drawing individual components of the face one at a time?

I used to do that alot. That will definately give an "off" feeling like you're saying. Especially with a live/moving model I'd recommend getting a quick outline or sketch of the underlying structure/shapes of the subject, and make a sort of 3D image in your head.

That way when you go back and examine and fill in detail of the eyes or nose or whatever, you can take what you're seeing and sort of rotate that in your head back into the perspective of your initial sketched model.

Hope that makes sense. :)

Hanging in there. Better than the alternative.

Yep. Other than that's, it's really coming along! :)

Try not to draw cheek bones. It's more about, I think, shading around the cheek bone. There's a lot of careful shading around the nose and eyes.

Oh, I wouldn't want to draw the cheek bone but the definition of shape it gives the face.

I think I do focus on parts of the face first, though. I would never have thought of this on my own, and it makes good sense.

Any idea on hair? Is my frantic lines style a good choice, or like the 3D model idea, is there something better?

Don't try to give hair definition. I see you have an outline for it. Hair is mostly random and full.

I don't think the head is long enough, front to back.

As humans, we fixate on the portion of the head that extends from the ears forward, and to neglect the portion that goes behind.
