Sitting on the ground, Ilvellios leant to the left, avoiding the downward chop that was aimed at his temple. He smoothly rolled backwards as a kick whistled past his right arm, but grunted as an unexpected elbow caught his ribs as he stood up.

He stepped back, towards the door. The woman, Hellenrae?, seemed to have stopped for the moment, so he kept moving back to the correct distance before bowing deeply, and then leaving the room, shutting the door behind him.

And that will do for the monk on monk action! Not quite as visual as a martial arts movie, sorry!

Ouch, the sooner he can attune to that tome of health, the better. Still, we're here to scout, so now we know what's behind that door! Shall we move on, or do we want to gang up on her? I'd imagine she would be hard to get information from..

Do I have time to spend a HD if someone else investigates the next door, Tallian?

As the door to the room opened, moonlight spilled out into the corridor. Errol gave a soft sigh of relief as he could finally see a bit of something. Ilvellios gestured for them to hold, so Errol maintained his position against the corridor wall. He heard a female voice, and she didn’t sound happy. Then he hears sounds of someone hitting another person. Errol pulls his bow around, readying to step around, but Ilvellios emerged from the room again and shut the door, plunging Errol into darkness once more, so he didn’t see the monk’s condition.

“What the hells was that?” Errol whispered.

Ilvellios beckoned the others to follow him, and led them a short way back to the orog's room so as not to further disturb the woman, before quietly telling the others what had happened..

Sacred Stone Monastery, Day 7, Late Evening

GM: Illvilious can try and take a rest while the rest of you search, it'll mean than he;ll be starting any combat from the stairs, likely away from the rest of the group.

To save time I've revealed a bunch of rooms, otherwise we're going to spend a month just opening three doors. They were all locked, I've assumed a cautious approach and that you have picked the lock and peered inside, but not entered any yet. Let me know if you want to try and do anything in them, along with appropriate rolls, or move on.


While Illvilious tried to recover from the harsh discipline of what appeared to be the abbess, the rest of the party looks into the other doors leading off the corridor junction.

M10
Writing desks stand beneath the windows of this large workroom. Dusty tomes, stacks of parchment, and pots of ink clutter each desk.

M13
Piles of firewood are stacked neatly against one wall of this room, and four large copper kettles stand in iron frames above iron fireboxes. Copper tubing in long coils leads from one kettle to the next. Several large wooden casks stand at the south end of the room, and shelves on the eastern wall hold scores of brown bottles sealed with red wax.

M15
Straw mats cover the floor of this large exercise room, and wooden racks along the walls hold quarterstaffs and various weapons commonly associated with martial arts. Doors exit to the north and the east. A triangular symbol is carved into the center of the room's western wall.

While Ilvellious and Duran resed, Errol and the others examined the next few rooms, finding a scriptorium, a distillery, and a dojo. Errol examined the weapons, searching about the dojo.

GM: Lol, That will teach me to metagame my own game. I wasn't planning on three of you taking a short rest. Since I Knew that there was nothing coming up in the next few rooms I figured it would be ok to let Illvilious have a rest, since I b-slapped him a bit with the monk encounter. Anyway...


Erol finds a selection of staffs, clubs, morning stars and a few glaives. They are all neatly racked along the walls. You notice the mat in the middle has more bloodstains on it than you would expect from a training area. Not enough to suggest that anyone was murdered here, but training must be very real for the loser.

Errol returned to the others. “If anyone needs weapons, there is a dojo. Not everything, but you coudl pick something up. Didn’t notice if anything was magical. Training here seems pretty brutal. Lots of blood. I didn’t see much else in the scriptorium or the distillery.”

Since the others were resting, Errol kept watch, though he figured he could rest, too.
