Vinccenzo sees a shift in the attackers as one falls. As Tuck has moved out of harms way, he moves in and takes a hasted attack against the thug that had tried to sneak behind the kobold.

OOC: 5 foot step diagonal
Vinccenzo catches the thug by surprise and Lil' Vinny finds the mark once, twice. The Sectarian can tell that the man definitely wants to escape out the back of the shop. So much for 'to the death'. It seems if the soldiers fall the thugs might break and run.

Up on the wall, the Regular guard goes into a completely defensive stance to try hold out against the traitor. Rhumyr tries to press his advantage, but his sword thrust is blocked by the guard.

Down on the street, Commander Oakfirst counters against the doppelganger. His blade strikes are good, but the doppelganger evades all but one. The commander swing his handaxe but the shapechanger ducks down to avoid the blow. Burchard moves to flank the doppelganger and manages to score a hits against the creature

The two thugs in front of the candle shop notice that the mercenary next to them drops her attack posture. Zenpher, as well, is roused from his fascination but he doesn't prepare to strike out at either of them. A moment of understand passes between the two, and they attack the halfling Elite in unison. Zenpher manages to block one attack with his shield, but the other thug gets the thrust of his shortblade through the halfling's defenses.

The violent attacks break the becalming and Akos feels his spell fizzle.

Emelia had understood that the mercenary woman was taken out by the Loremaster and had planned on challenging the thug next to her. However, when the spell breaks and the merc and the woman behind her go back to a offensive stance, she steps southeast and attacks the merc will full force. The first sword strike hits, but the second is parried by the woman's dagger.

In the warehouse, the Rsinig Sword cleric feels the power of the Loremaster's enchantment fail. He prays to his god and calls forth divine power to aid his allies. A harsh orange light appears from above and bathes the Loyalists and mercenaries in an incandescent radiance.

Captain Camburn shifts his position towards the old house. he brings his sword around in two vicious arcs. The first cuts the mercenary while the second slices a deep wound in the thugs chest. The man gurgles as the captain brings his greatsword around again and hits the mercenary a second time. As he brings his blade around towards the thug, he nearly loses grip on the blade.

The second attack isn't need. The thug crumples to the street in front of the open doorway of the house.

"Ha! Ha!"

Tim offers the captain a short salute, which seems to confuse the Loyalist in front of the large knight. Takes advantage and brings his blade down on the man and then he adjusts his footing and swings his greatsword again. The blade nearly cuts the man in two, so when Tim tries to hit the soldier with Rizvan, he finds the Loyalist is already on the ground.

Tim steps forward toward the thug.

"Yes! Ha! Ha!" Captain Camburn exclaims again. "Let teach these louts you can't cause mayhem in Bluffside!"

The thug standing next to the warehouse's wall steps to flank Captain Camburn. He drives his short sword into the old soldier's side. The blade penetrates deep and the captain yells out in pain.

"You should watch your back!" The thug snarls.

The enchant looks at Falen and raises her sword for a moment, but then she steps aways and summon forth two rays of scorching heat. The first she fires at Falen and it burns the half-hobgoblin... but it could have been worse. The second she aims at the captain. It hits the man, but most of it seems to be absorbed by some unseen barrier.

Up the side street, the female guard steps over the body of the dead assassin, reloads her crossbow, and fires a shot at the man who had been grappling Akos. It is a glancing shot, at best. But every little bit counts.

She tries to ctch her breath. She then shouts out to Tim. "Sir Tim! More danger is coming! The Renegade sent something... horrible through the portal. It decimated the Regulars and Elites standing guard there. It's huge! Bigger than you! It's coming this way!"

She takes in a lung full of air. "Sir Breva rallied the last of us! He's right behind me with some kobold girl riding Mr. Tuck's big dog. They'll be here in seconds!" She looks back. The paladin of the Purifier is running towards her. The kobold and dog dou are with him. She doesn't see the rest of the guards. Could they have all fallen. No, the Elites are probably are covering the retreat. The Regulars are likely scattering. The beast is well beyond a normal guard's strength.

"The beast will be here in minutes!"

Tim hears it roar in the distance. Whatever it is... it is big... and angry.

OOC: @MetaVoid, Sir Breva managed to rally the guards to him. Breva has seen the creature and the guard is not exaggerating. The young knight knew he could not take it alone. You're up next. Breva hasn't taken any damage yet.

# of Elites and # of Regulars: 1D4+1 = [4]+1 = 5
1D6+1 = [1]+1 = 2 (one didn't make it)
# of Sectarians: 1D4-1 = [4]-1 = 3
---
# of Elites that make it to the candle shop: 1D6-1 = [2]-1 = 1 (wounded)
# of Sectarians that make it to the candle shop: 1D4-1 = [2]-1 = 1 (wounded)
---
The beast arrives in 2D4+5 = [1, 3]+5 = 9 Rounds. (Round 19)

Breva doesn't waste time looking over the battlefield, he's on a tight deadline. And clearing away chaff before he can engage with real enemies is just on his way.

He moves forward, unlimbering powerful bow, taking aim at one of the thugs visible. The arrow streaks by Sir Tim and embeds into the Loyalist down the street.

Breva bow qttack vs Loyalist; damage: 1d20+13 = [9]+13 = 22; 1d8+4 = [2]+4 = 6

OOC: changed, not taking melee or cover penalty. Just find something to shoot straight, it's not something he will do more of :)

OOC: Not a great start :(
Breva sheet doesn't have combat stats, I got +14 from BAB +8 +4 (Str 18) +1 weapon and weapon focus
Also, no spells?

Breva charge vs Loyalist: damage: 1d20+14+2-3 = [2]+14+2-3 = 15; 2d6+5+6 = [4,6]+5+6 = 21] - of course the one that matters does more damage, but doesn't hit :(
Ignore this:
[url=http://coyotecode.net/lookup.php?rollid=280151]Breva charge vs Loyalist: damage: 1d2014+2-3 = [335]+2-3 = 334; 2d6+5+6 = [5,3]+5+6 = 19] I think that hits :p

The arrow embeds in the man's back. He is quite surprised. He looks for the archer who hit him. He sees the Regular Guard and Breva on the other street.

"The paladin is here!" He shout out a warning as he points down the side street.

"Blast! He wasn't supposed to be here!" The Merc flanking Captain Camburn yells back.

Somehow, they knew that Breva went to met with Sir Silvon.

Teresa is angry! That's twice now that Akos has gotten the better of her!

She tries to take her frustration out on Burchard, as she moves to flank the Elite with the doppelganger. She stabs out with her short sword, but the guard avoids her strike.
