D&D 5E Opinion poll: Once D&D Next is out, how do you think it will do? (based on what we have so far)

Because of D&D's high sales expectations I suspect that the second and third options on this poll will be nearly indistinguishable to an outside viewer. A certain amount of panicked flailing about and a quick end to the edition. selling as much as Pathfinder did at it's peak (whenever that peak...

    D&D 5E Healing after 29 Oct playtest

I find that healing is too hard. It paradoxically deprives from the battle the lethality and the sense of danger, Most encounters must be built as a attempt to merely wear down the PCs and force them too expend resources rather than any kind of attempt to actually defeat them or else the game...

    Racial Scores bonuses.

The only non-elf PHB race that doesn't match or exceed the dwarf at wizardry is the Half-Orc; I'm tired of people overrating Dwarves. That said, while con(and dex) isn't as big a deal as a bonus attribute as the others, Con is the only stat penalty that is actually a real penalty. While no PC...

    Racial Scores bonuses.

And all the others (save possibly dex) are the single most important for a significant subset of PCs. Yeah Grey elves make terrible fighters but they make overpowered wizards, so they are an overpowered race.

    Racial Scores bonuses.

A pathetic falsehood; con and dex are the least valuable Attributes to get bonuses to.

    Fixing the Monk Class

Ask yourself this: Do I want Monks focusing on Mobility or on Full-Attacking? If mobility, rewrite/replace flurry of blows so that a Monk isn't expected to need full attacks to function offensively. If Full attacking, deemphasize movement powers that the Monk will never have the actions to...

Or you can just keep singing as a free action and take a full attack.

    Building an Ultimate Magus

No bardic music ability you would want to use in combat by Bard 9 requires an action to maintain.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Sneak Peeks (Old thread)

Wrong, energy drain's purpose was to make PCs use up some of their stockpile of wishes. Gary said so himself in one of the ask Gary threads. As such I don't think it has a place in any campaign model where the PCs aren't expected to keep a large stockpile of wishes to undo any harm or to solve...

This is not an optimized paladin build.

    Metallic Dragons: Unaligned!?

And are as much Dragons in the sense that D&D uses the term as the Navaho and the Iroquois are natives of the Republic of India. Dragons are defined and ruled by the sin of Avarice, it doesn't make sense to claim that they should be genetically saintly.

Do You Enjoy The Rogues New Role?

Most of those could could be amply modeled by playing a PHB cleric and pretending you had access to fewer weapons, worse armor and maybe a quarter of your spell list.

Do You Enjoy The Rogues New Role?

Please, the cleric book was the gimpiest of the series, it actualy suggested nerf the PHB cleric to help the option therein look less worthless.

Still too similar for my taste.

    PHB 2 power creep

Nope, Ranged and melee attacks with muliple targets roll damage for each target separately, check page 270 of the PHB1 for confirmation.
