Fantasy Grounds Drops Prices For Electronic D&D Books

I would love to give FG a whirl on my Mac. When I tried it using VMWare at Christmas though, the app would not work for me. Has anyone had success using VMWare and FG?

Gamehackery: Technology and Winging It: Intro (part 1 of 4)

I'm working on the wife. "It'll add to our property value." "The basement will be brighter." "Would you rather I spent the money on crack?" "Go ahead, buy those new clothes." It's a work in progress. :)

Gamehackery: Technology and Winging It: Intro (part 1 of 4)

Love the TV idea! How big is it? Do all the fingerprints and minis on the screen trash it, or do you use a screen protector of some kind? Also looking forward to the column.

Congrats! Love the concept. And the cover art is great. Who did the art? Best of luck with the AP!

    Today, I...

I learned RPG ages ago from the the basic D&D red book. Its simplicity helped my friend and I get into it right away. We still got stuff wrong, like spells per level, but it was a sleek experience. Sounds the the Beginner's Box has the same spirit. Keep it simple and fun. That's awesome.

    Magic item props

Dollar stores have given me toy props, including little figures for use as Figurines of Wondrous Power. My wife picked up a felt wizard hat at costume store one time - it's blue with gold stars, and pointed. Fits my head perfectly. ;) Speaking of clothes, you can pick up cheap stuff at used...

    Roman Campaign

Heads-off to you for a great campaign launch. Rome + Egypt. Cool! Do the PCs realize they are prisoners, or do they see the guards as a reward?

    Show us your NPC adventurers

Ditto what Wycen said. It brings back memories of -1 level campaigns. :) What software did you use to create that char sheet?

    Best Dragon Magazine Issue Evar

Going from memory here, but Best of Dragon II (blue cover, right?). NPC classes and good GM advice. Runner up: 80/81. Fuzzy on the issue #s, but they had a two part series on the Politics of Hell. Those articles sold me on every D&D devil book since.

    iPad remote desktop control apps

Congrats on the iPad! I was going to recommend Splashtop, as it works great for me, but I think it's VNC only.

    Some book questions

I highly recommend making your own GM screen. * Saves money * Helps you learn the rules * It becomes what you need it to be (combat help? skills? common feats? spell hints?) * You can include campaign info Ideas: * Use a binder instead - print/replace new stuff at will * Tape cardboard box...

    So many tiles....

I store my tiles in 2" binders filed with collectible coin/card sleeves. I can see both sides of tiles that way. However, like others in this thread, I am thinking of switching to the lego tub idea. Put 'em all in and let the DM sort 'em out. Oh wait, that's me. I do like the idea of themed...
