I should clearly have thought about the math more! Didn’t realize would be so much more at lower d4 and so much less at d12… I am thinking I like the MAX + normal roll idea now.

Except my wife, the rest of my players are young kids. They know, take the dice sides, divide by 2 and add .5 is the average roll. So for the player, they roll their damage dice, and decide if they want to roll a second set (add another XdN) or just double what they rolled. They do the math and...

I think a bit of this depends on what level of magic you are running the world and/or campaign at. Has it ever been a meta discussion with the players… or just observed in character yet? Have the words “low magic” or “high magic” ever been uttered during Session 0 (if you had one) or emails or...

I really enjoyed it. Very solid 8 from me. Was a little loud for the kids, but enjoyable anyway. Trying to decide if I want to see it in the theater again or just way for the AppleTV pre-buy to show up. First time in a movie theater in 37-months or so for us.
