    [March] What are you reading?

After more than six months I've finally reached the end of Colleen McCullough's Rome series, so I'm now reading Homer's Iliad, Fagel's translation.

    [December] What are you reading?

Wading is a good way of describing it. Does anyone else find it hard to read a rule book that's close to an earlier rule book? I wish there was enough of a difference with 3.5 that I could tell the two apart. Instead it all kinda blurs together...

    [December] What are you reading?

Still working my way through Colleen McCullough's Masters of Rome series. Last month I read Caesar's Women in a couple of weeks, and last night I picked up book five - Caesar. One thing that irked me about the series is that she sometimes leaves out certain events. CW ended with Caesar...

What if the Chariots of the Gods were mechs? AKA Mecha Omega design thread

Sounds a lot like one of my favorite Marvel Comics series from the 1970s - "The Eternals." Its creator, Jack Kirby was also inspired by Chariots of the Gods in the storyline and space-faring race the Celestials.

    Arcane Legions anyone?

I'm in the midst of painting my Han forces. I'm using four to five colors per figure, and then using the Minwax Polyshades dipping method to seal them up. After a couple of months of playing we'll see how well things have held up.

I'm a good way through Colleen McCullough's The Grass Crown, book two of her Masters of Rome series of novels. On the warm-up deck are Pathfinder Core Rulebook and Palmyra and its Empire: Zenobia's Revolt against Rome by Richard Stoneman.

Cheapest & safest way to ship 2000 comic books?

If you're handling the shipping, I'd suggest breaking them into three groups: Valuables - take with you Non-valuables but cherished - FedEx Non-Valuable but don't care as much - USPS You might consider switching to short boxes, which are half the length. Long boxes, especially when they're...

    [August] What are you reading?

About to finish "The First Man in Rome" by Colleen McCullough. First book in a series of 6 (7?) going from the rise of Gaius Marius (100BC) through to the ascent of Caesar Augustus (30BC). I read this and half of the second book when I got sidetracked with other things in my life about 18...

Thanks Eric & Jack7 - appreciate the sentiments. Getting back on topic, has anyone picked up a new title, "Shop Class as Soul Craft: An Inquiry into the Value of Work"? I read a review on Slate.com and it sounded really interesting.

    Futurama Bender's Game

I hadn't seen any of the other Futurama "movies" except for Bender's Game, and it felt like episodes smashed together. I liked the first thirty minutes where Bender gets into the game, but after that, it was their usual "hold on for dear life as this story is gonna get craaazzzyyy!" I was...

    Life After People

I tried reading "The World Without Us" in 2007, but had too many other things going on to get through it. I was glad to see the show promoted yesterday on Wired.com, so I have it DVRed. I also caught an hour of last year's show on History International, which I think was the "highlights" reel...
