I am very disappointed to see the Ranger builds from the GAMA photo. I understand the archer build, but I fail to see why they insist on tying the Ranger to two weapon fighting. I didn't like it in 3.x either. It seemed at the time like they did it to stat out a certain Drow from their books.

I'm still not completely sold on 4e. Three of my players, who have been adventuring in my campaigns for over 25 years, attended the D&DXP and were... underwhelmed. I know, I know - it was a delve, it revealed only basic mechanics, etc. None of that is the subject of this post. I am holding out...

The quickplay rules state that "Charging provokes opportunity attacks." Does this mean the target of said charge gets an opportunity attack or simply that the movement part of the charge provokes OA's as normal (i.e. charging out of a threatened square to attack a different target, etc)?

My group met for our regular weekly game tonight. Three of the players participated in the XP weekend. One is still on the fence, but the other two did not like the game. I have to say from what I've read, I don't think I'm going to like it either. I still intend to buy the first three books...
