    Who’s Going to Gen Con?

I'll be there, either doing press stuff as usual (well, more than usual with 5e) and running Marvel Heroic Roleplaying at Games on Demand. If you stop by for Marvel, there's a 50% chance you'll be playing an adventure I wrote :)

Dungeon 205 - Demonomicon of Iggwilv: Shemeshka the Marauder

I really enjoyed it. I've used Shemeska as an occasional bad guy/temporary ally in a few campaigns that have taken trips to Sigil (but not stayed there). Great background material. I was hoping for a bit more Planescape material this month, but at least we get this, my Factions article...

    GenCon WotC Freelancer Evening Meet-Up

Friday night is the Ennies and Saturday night is the Media Meet & Greet at Union Station (which often has many freelancers in attendance). I could go to a different bar after either of those things- or just combine with the Meet & Greet.

    Dragon 410 and Dungeon 201

My article was in both TOCs, so I guess that says... something?

L&L: The Challenges of High Level Play

I took the poll results from last week and dropped them into Excel and sorted from highest to lowest. Some pretty interesting stuff (all usual poll caveats apply, of course.) BELONG IN CORE Critical Hits 4698 Skills 4322 Feats 4044 Saving Throws 3744 Non-Vancian Magic 2930 Ability for...

    The Paladin and the Stirges

Apology accepted. I'd also like to add that it's clear that WotC is reading and processing (though not necessarily accepting) everything, so regardless of the reactions, actual rules, etc. I'm confidant they're thinking about all of it.

    The Paladin and the Stirges

And I think you're very mistaken in using my post to represent a problem on WotC's part, especially without having all the facts. Additionally, if writing about something as small as stirges constitutes a "****storm" WotC is not going to be able to do right by you no matter what they try...

    The Paladin and the Stirges

Thanks, I appreciate that. BTW, my comments thread on that post has been open, I was willing to clear anything up about my impressions :)

    The Paladin and the Stirges

From what I understood from the NDA I signed, cool stories talking about my game were OK, but talking about actual rules was not. I wanted to talk about my experiences running D&D at DDXP, so I told some cool stories about my game. One of them happened to include a case where I made a call at...

D&D 5E new Critical Hits article about running DnD next

I think it's far too early to make that determination - what we ran was a convention demo adventure, based on an early D&D module that was designed as an intro in the first place. Plus the "craziness" was all brought by the players and wasn't anything that would be too out of place in plenty of...

D&D 5E new Critical Hits article about running DnD next

Between the lines? I'm not even sure my blogging software supports that :) On the Paizo thing, it's my understanding that it was Paizo that didn't want them to sign an NDA, not WotC. I've heard before as well that WotC employees aren't allowed to sign NDAs for other gaming companies, so it...

    What's Up With D&D? for Monday, 17 October 2011

Hey, thanks for the kind words on the ninja article! Glad you enjoyed it. My next milestone will be when it's in the character builder so I can fully play one (instead of in playtest with a character builder character and lots of stuff scratched out)

Gencon News and Updates Thread (with links!)

Just as in previous years, Critical hits will be posting from the con. The big thing that people come and check out is the D&D new product seminar write-ups on Saturday: 2009: http://critical-hits.com/2009/08/17/gencon-2009-4e-extravaganza-with-photos/ 2010: Gen Con 2010: D&D New Products...

[Saturday AM] Mage: The Ascension Job (Leverage Hack) **FULL: Accepting Alts **

The strange and mystical take what they want. You alter reality to steal it back from them. You provide... leverage. My hack of the Leverage RPG to play in the Mage: The Ascension (World of Darkness) universe. No rules knowledge necessary, but some familiarity with Mage is a big plus...
