Hmm i think crafting could really work well as some sort of longtime skill challenge so others can assist you with secondary skills. There would be a risk to that kind of help, as too many cooks (and failures) could spoil the broth ( or weapon/armor/materials)... :D

An At Will from another pact. Seems like pacts only determine your pact boon since you can freely take encounters and dailys from other pacts.

Actually something like that was kind of hard in 3E because of spells like Detect Evil/ Detect Alignment. There was an absolut measure of Good and Evil because of spells like these which made characters like the one you mentioned kind of awkward.

How? How is this more of a straight-jacket? Please give examples of what kind of characters you're are not able to play with this system.

In our highlevel game, player characters died. And they died alot. Just think of Arcane Spirit as some sort of Contingency - it doesnt come up every other encounter, but when it does it makes spellcasters harder to kill.

I wonder if you can use Feystep when you're chained to a spot. I could see this being a restriction as in "You can't Feystep when you're imobilized. Being tied down or chained to a spot imobilizes you". I mean, you can't Feystep out of a grapple, can you? (I guess the answer is "we don't know ;) )

For all we know you can probably feat-multiclass into ranger to get some two weapon figthing goodnes if your really want it.
