Thoughts - elf fighter/rogue w tunnel fighter, blade mastery, elven accuracy

Yeah... I've cooled down on it now. It would be a red flag to a bull with my DM probably.

Thoughts - elf fighter/rogue w tunnel fighter, blade mastery, elven accuracy

I didn't find anything on the search so not sure if this particular combo has been discussed before. Thought I'd chuck it on here to see what you think. Assuming the DM allows multiclassing, UA feats and UA fighting styles, I was thinking about the character build that exploits... er, makes...

Choose One Cantrip You'd Like In Real Life

I'm glad that Prestidigitation is the clear winner. Hands down. Its worth it just to instantly clean and press your clothes! Second for me would be Minor Illusion. So useful for briefings... in 3D!!! However, I'm a little surprised that Thaumaturgy doesn't get a look in. Subtler than Presti...

D&D 5E So Why is 5E So Popular?

I think 3 and 4 are huuuuuge. 3 people I've met randomly have said they've watched Acquisitions or Critical Role and would like to play a game. That's 2 more in the last year than all my social interactions for the past 30 years! Social media and the internet have done a lot to demystify and...

D&D 5E 5e Ready Action - Ready action on your turn so that you can act later in the round using your reaction.

Remember that in today's world, stating something is the truth is the same as the truth. Anything else is fake news. ;-)

D&D 5E 5e Ready Action - Ready action on your turn so that you can act later in the round using your reaction.

I'd say technically no, because the readied attack happens before the action that caused it so the caster isn't maintaining concentration yet by 5e standards (although I think in 3e you could ready to disrupt a spell, I forget now it was a long time ago).

How much do your trust the advice of others?

Where people back it up with facts, sure. Note that this only makes the advice correct, not right.

Come on, you don't want to know what your pH balance score is?

    D&D 5E Zards Warlord 2.0

I like the auras giving cool abilities unique to the warlord, I like the flavor of the paths and I like the exploits but... I agree with frogreaver. Your warlord is already a really strong support class, the extra abilities consign those other classes to the scrapheap.

Help in getting a second sneak attack

The guys with SS and GWM! ;) Seriously though, to maximise his dps he needs to get in another sneak attack via the battlemasters manoeuvre Commanders Strike. Grants an attack via a reaction. Not sure if there are other abilities that grant attacks on a reaction.

    So...am I evil??

Evil? No. Weird? Yeah kinda... Its not drugs, alcohol or friends you didn't like, you banned him from a version of a roleplaying game you don't like?! Geez, if only all parents had dilemmas that easy to resolve.

Will D&D make strength matter again?

Like the origin of that saying, the thing that you posit is an underdog is demonstrably not an underdog.

    Worst Purchase Ever?

Back in 3.5e days I bought that "Tome of Erotic Fantasy" in a misguided attempt to get my GF into DnD. Just an awful awful book. Don't know what I was thinking.

    D&D Movie/TV What's The Latest On The D&D Movie?

This. So much this. And how do we know this? Guardians of the Galaxy. Completely leftfield property, known to a handful of diehard comic lovers. Awesome. Also, Pirates of the Caribbean (significantly, made before Marvel rewrote the way studio movies are made). That film was waaaaay better...

    D&D Movie/TV What's The Latest On The D&D Movie?

I don't doubt that he's correct but these announcements don't necessarily mean anything. The studios do them 2 years out just to gauge the interest in the property. Around about the time you see the director and the actors together in promotional photos and giving interviews is when to take notice.

D&D 5E Feats: Do they stifle creativity and reduce options?

I actually have a good example of this. In my old campaign I had a Goliath monk with 12 strength, 6 charisma and the performance skill. Now, because the goliath race description says something about being capable of great feats of strength, he's always saying things like "I throw the orc across...

D&D 5E Feats: Do they stifle creativity and reduce options?

Mostly it's the illusion of choice rather than actual choice. Numerically, there are always superior choices. I think if feats weren't such a precious resource though, you'd see people making more interesting choices.

Did some math on what levels to give exotic mounts, would like your opinions!

Yeah, what Li Shenron said. I would take into account the movement mode you want parties to have given their particular level. When I give mounts (which is not often) I try not to give mounts that can have a significant effect on the battlefield, otherwise the pets start to eclipse the...
