D&D (2024) Comeliness and Representation in Recent DnD Art

Okay with more/all human types in artwork. A reminder I can play a non-human. Okay that my character’s species is less diverse in that few/none are ugly/fat.

D&D General I think the choice of Species / Race / Ancestry has more to do with Story than Rules...

I respect you so much that I prioritize eye contact with you over my own safety and wellbeing, though in full disclosure, I am holding my breath.

D&D General I think the choice of Species / Race / Ancestry has more to do with Story than Rules...

All I ever wanted was to play a small-sized species that I find physically attractive without a head (halfling) or nose (gnome) the size of the Grand Canyon. Fairy loyalist, even if they had no mechanical bonuses.

D&D General Who “owns” a PC after the player stops using them?

Nope. I left and came back (about 6 months later) to learn some less than pleasant things had happened to my character. Shrug city though. The DM was still there and had to come up with some blah blah for what happened to my character, so totally fine with it.

D&D General Who “owns” a PC after the player stops using them?

All of those unanswered 911 calls…

D&D General Who “owns” a PC after the player stops using them?

I personally don’t think people own ideas, so I think the DM and the player can each do whatever they want. As a player, all of my characters end up with happy endings, regardless of what the DM does. For example, if my character dies in some other DM’s campaign, I just bring him into my...

    D&D (2024) D&D Player’s Handbook (2024)

I don’t think they’ll screw up Wish, so my 5.5 sorcerer will use it to trade out the lame version of Arcane Apotheosis with the better one and 5.5 Twinned with 5.0.

    D&D (2024) The new warlock (Packet 7)

Well, that’s good to know. “Overpowered” is not a word anyone uses to describe my bard builds. Nor is “powered”. Usually, the words are “oh yeah, we have a bard”.

    D&D (2024) The new warlock (Packet 7)

For my 5.5 bard, it looks like a one-level dip is the way to go. Will likely cast Foresight most days, so the bard capstone is not that great. But I’ll want to raise CHA to 22 at level 19. First level in warlock gives my drow/halfling (with halfling stats) Devil’s Sight, which would otherwise...

    D&D (2024) Sorcerer (Playtest 7)

Have to be a cleric to Wish for anything and be assured of keeping Wish.

D&D (2024) Is there any confusion between Poison Damage and the Poisoned Condition?

There’s always been confusion. At this point, it’s endearing. “Make a save…You are now poisoned and take X damage.” “Do I suffer from the poisoned condition or just take the damage?” DM double-checks the wording.

    D&D (2024) Playtest 6: Spells

Agreed. It looks like to avoid exhaustion, the requirement is to drink the water, but I can see some/many DMs ruling no benefit is gained.

    D&D (2024) Playtest 6: Spells

Couldn’t one just cast it 16 times or 32 times on a hot day?

    D&D (2024) Playtest 6: Bard

My lore bard will miss not having advantage on BI (Cunning Inspiration from first playtest). The sorcerer and cleric can now Wish for anything without the 1/3 chance of losing Wish. Makes me more inclined to play one of those classes and just Wish for the bard stuff I want.

D&D (2024) Should Wish be an Epic boon?

I’d be okay with this for non-sorcerers. :)

    D&D (2024) Bard brainstorm

If the 5.5 bard takes a cantrip with Magical Secrets, it eats up one of their cantrip slots if I’m reading 5.5 Magical Secrets right. So a 5.0 lore bard could have 12 cantrips, whereas max for 5.5 bard is 4. That’s a bit of a change.

    D&D (2024) Bard brainstorm

I’d play a rogue if they were the best at skills. They have a higher floor but lore bards have a higher ceiling and I prefer the latter.
