    D&D (2024) Speaking of Monks...

But, @tetrasodium I would like to point out that the damage reroll has no restrictions on the Action being used (Attack or Bonus) and the Shove is limited to once per turn...

    D&D (2024) Speaking of Monks...

Is the Bonus Action used for FoB considered to be part of the Attack Action? This is in regards to the Tavern Brawler Feat which allows you to Shove after a successful Unarmed Strike using the Attack Action and to also reroll a damage roll of "1" after an US w/the Attack Action. Would be a sweet...

D&D (2024) One D&D Expert Classes Playtest Document Is Live

Pump your brakes there, scooter. White room assumptions don't break anything. Next time there's a job opening at Wizards, I'd love to see your resumè.

D&D (2024) One D&D Expert Classes Playtest Document Is Live

Yep, but now you can't split your movement types up. So great, you climbed up the wall, but unless you also Dash, you're stuck there. Still situationally useful, but it seems like a nice compromise. And as for SA, not having to use your BA to dual wield hopefully mitigates the lack use as a...

Books everyone seems to love, but you just can't

The Icewind Dale Trilogy. I only finished The Crystal Shard so I could say, "I finished The Crystal Shard." It reads like transcripts from somebody's home game, written by the guy in the group who really liked X-Men.

D&D 5E New class options in Tasha

To each their own, but from what I understand the Class Feature UA was one of the highest overall rated UA's to date, hence Crawford stating that most of what we saw was making it to publication. We must just have a really concentrated pool of oppositionists here. My group is anticipating this...

    D&D 5E Unarmored Defense as a Feat?

I like it. Feels in line with the last batch of UA Feats. Also, my group is reskinning D&D as superheroes as an experiment so this is absolutely gunna be used at my table.

WotC New M:tG set announced: "Adventures in the Forgotten Realms"

I could see buying a couple of packs to see what it's like after 20+ yrs away but to keep me coming back I'd love to see the game integrated into a campaign like making Magic the new Three Dragon Ante. Probably not feasible as a full integration due to time constraints but if they developed a...

    D&D 5E D&D re-skinned as a Superhero game?

As always, feedback is appreciated, thank you. We're gunna steam forward regardless seeing as how our core group is also big comic book fans. I'll post again soon post-Session 0 with observations.

    D&D 5E D&D re-skinned as a Superhero game?

Basically my group is looking to "try something new" and since we're all playing remotely the only common books we all own are D&D 5E. I'm not about to try to teach somebody how to play a new system over the internet so reskinning feels like the best option. When our quarantine lifts and we can...

    D&D 5E D&D re-skinned as a Superhero game?

Has anybody out there attempted anything like this? I'm trying to mix things up for my group and so my idea is to do a sort-of Rifts-style approach where the PC's are transported to Eberron from various planes/worlds/etc and reskin races & classes to suit appropriately.

D&D 5E Another monk thread! Fixing the Way of the 4 Elements

Additionally, the Class Features UA included an ability for the Monk to use a Bonus Action to make an unarmed attack whenever they burn a Ki point. Not on the same redesign level as the Ranger, but at least they're showing some love.

D&D 5E Yes, I know what RAW says, but, Effects of allowing Sneak Attack on Monk attacks.

In another thread I also found this to be ridiculous. You specifically get Longsword prof! I homebrewed a Versatile Fighting Style that allows you to add either finesse or heavy when wielding a versatile weapon 2-handed. Instantly makes a very fun Fighter/Rogue. Haven't had a real good chance to...

    D&D 5E Versatile Fighting Style

Wanna just say again how much I appreciate the feedback the past 24 hrs. I've been hesitant to post anything like this after some disappointing discourse in the past on these boards. This has been a very fruitful exercise in design discussion. Slainte!

    D&D 5E Versatile Fighting Style

Appreciate the feedback, I ALSO was wondering if there needed to be a specific trigger for the reaction, but thought that purposefully leaving it ambiguous felt more in line with established design criteria. But I AM curious what you mean by "worth the table time"... Also, are you referring to...

    D&D 5E Versatile Fighting Style

My only concern (so far) is the implications on Sneak Attack. Now the Rogue w/ 1-level dip in Fighter Sneak Attacks @ 1d10. Is this a game-changer?

    D&D 5E Versatile Fighting Style

Thanks y'all for some very creative feedback. Felt like attaching a Bonus Action was unnecessary (and unprecedented) but I like to start off underpowered and build from there. Im leaning towards @dnd4vr and their recommendations but eliminating the +1's, so it would look like this Versatile...

    D&D 5E Versatile Fighting Style

On your turn use a Bonus Action to grant yourself either a +1 to melee weapon attacks or a +1 AC until the start of your next turn. If this has already been threaded and necroed please ignore. If not I'd love some feedback.
