    D&D Movie/TV D&D 2 is possibility still

They're open to a sequel because they already committed to a live action streaming series, so they need to build the franchise, even though the first movie was a money loser.

    D&D Movie/TV D&D Movie Hit or Flop?

Boy, Tom Cruise's box office is pretty ridiculous based on that list. $370 million out of 4 productions!

D&D General Ben Riggs on how to make D&D a $1 billion brand

The most important is create D&D GPT GM so a single player can campaign at any time of their day, without needing to find other players on the same schedule.

D&D Movie/TV Dragonlancing TV show being worked on by WotC confirmed

I failed to start Wheel of Time several times. I think I got a couple hundred pages in once, and I thought the show was really quite good.

    D&D Movie/TV D&D Movie Hit or Flop?

I wonder if anything changes if they played it more straight. Maybe a lot of the people who want fantasy comedy are already watching actual plays on YouTube.

D&D Movie/TV Dragonlancing TV show being worked on by WotC confirmed

Yes, revisiting the original books as an adult made me realize they were pretty flawed.

What We Lose When We Eliminate Controversial Content

Some people already take this stuff out of games that have it.

RPG Evolution: What If the D&D Movie is a Hit?

Except someone has already done the work to make interesting characters for your movie, the same way that Marvel comics were a literal storyboard for MCU characters and situations. Why didn't Marvel just bust out some new characters on film so they didn't alienate all the non-comic book...

RPG Evolution: What If the D&D Movie is a Hit?

I’m sure they can adjust and revise that stuff. I bet they’ll tweak the Drow backstory as well.

RPG Evolution: What If the D&D Movie is a Hit?

Iron Man was a well worn character in the comics, they still introduced him for the MCU. The likes of Raistlin, Drizzt and Elminster might be well known to D&D players but everyone else will be happy to see their origin stories and iconic adventures, most people will have no idea.

RPG Evolution: What If the D&D Movie is a Hit?

Their best, easiest to understand epic story with characters that should be iconic is probably the original Dragonlance Chronicles. An Icewind Dale / Crystal Shard series adaption would also be a good way to get to Drizzt without having to get involved with all the underdark Drow stuff from the...

What We Lose When We Eliminate Controversial Content

Aa Lovecraft seems more popular in bookstores than he has ever been, at least in the US. Collections are in prominent locations in the store. I've seen a hardback Lovecraft collection in the Costco book section. I doubt that's down to his position as the inspiration of other writers. I...

What We Lose When We Eliminate Controversial Content

Which is why it's ignored. You could make the argument that D&D like fantasy is trying to be a game where players participate in the historical trappings of imperial and religious conflict while wholesale removing anything that might be nuanced or objectionable. Your reconquista is not against...

What We Lose When We Eliminate Controversial Content

It’s interesting that the imperialist/colonialist setup of adventurers heading into an area and rampaging through against the “evil” denizens gets such a pass here. Someone brought up the polytheistic nature of these settings - which generally seem heavily sanitized. I’m not recalling any...

    MCDM officially announces their RPG

Seems like it would be hard to tell if the fantasy RPG market is so big now that 20% of it is much bigger in absolute numbers than say, as an example, 30% of it was in say 1992 or 1993 with Rolemaster, MERP, Runequest, GURPS Fantasy, Fantasy Hero, Ars Magica, Warhammer, Harn, Talislanta...

    MCDM officially announces their RPG

I think it depends heavily on what not D&D is defined as. The OSR and Pathfinder are D&D so I'm not so sure about that.

    MCDM officially announces their RPG

There have been multiple fresh takes since the late 1970s. People seem less and less interested. The most diversity people seem to be shooting for nowadays is what edition of D&D is you fantasy game looking to emulate or pay tribute to.

    A Review of Blade Runner

I wonder if they're going to try and make it a more fully fleshed out future noir world. It's not really cyberpunk I don't think because the heavy body modification better with tech cyberpunk ethos doesn't seem there in Blade Runner. It is more transhumanist if anything.
