    D&D 5E D&D podcast!

Which is why this game I'd modular. If you don't like it, don't use it. Unfortunately, like every other innovation 4e brought forth, this one is getting swept under the rug, too. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

D&D 5E I hate expertise dice as a universal mechanic.

That isn't a game I would be willing to play. I want balance across all pillars.

D&D 5E I hate expertise dice as a universal mechanic.

Because that is the whole point of classes. Each class should be distinct from the other. Mechanical diversity is a must have. "More of what everyone else gets" does not make a class. Classes are defined by what they can do.

Couldn't disagree more. They definitely need something unique to call their own. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

D&D 5E Jonathan Tweet & Rob Heinsoo: Making their own 5th Edition?

This is really exciting, considering we still don't know what DDN "does". We know what they're trying too do with it, but we still have no clue what it brings to the table that no other edition does. For example, 1e was a major step forward from basic. 2e revised 1e and added Thac0 and a ton of...

D&D 5E Jonathan Tweet & Rob Heinsoo: Making their own 5th Edition?

No, they're actually looking to start from scratch and apply years of game design knowledge across multiple systems to design something new off of the same foundation, fixing the flaws of the older design. This is instead of applying some duct tape and painting over it, leaving lots of rust...

    D&D 4E 4e's Equivalent to Pathfinder

Honestly, if they took 4e, cleaned it up and got rid of the feat taxes, then actually fixed the problems that those taxes were put in place for... I'd be totally happy never looking at DDN. They could also maybe clean up the action economy a bit, and actually define terms like "wield".

    Phb1 v phb2/2

It still wasn't a problem. As a daily, it was about on par with most other dailies.

    I don't know anything

Githzerai with a fullblade is real nasty. Githzerai Blade Mastery.

    Phb1 v phb2/2

So, because it has one power with good control, it needs to be nerfed? I suppose every Fighter power that is good for strikers needs a nerf (Fighter is the most common MC for most of the top tier striker builds). Every defender ability in the Pathfinder PP for rangers needs to be nerfed, too...

    Phb1 v phb2/2

Bard is considered to be the 2nd best leader in 4e, due to enabling (which has shown to be the most important aspect of leaders). However, the top classes for every role are from the PHB1. Not seeing where your argument comes from. I agree that the Blinding Barrage nerf was uncalled for...

    20 vs 18

Wow. Didn't even notice how bad of a necro this was, lol.

    20 vs 18

DEX primary classes can all get away with a 20 without much thought. Everyone else kind of has to weigh the pros and cons. It's mainly because of what DEX provides is almost always greater than the rider effects of their secondary abilities.

    Eladrin, why?

To sum it up, it was to cure the identity crisis elves have always seem to have. It was also to address the "there's an elf for that" issue. Elves from previous editions have been narrowed down into 3 distinct races. The sub races are handled through racial feats now. It's much cleaner.

    The Binder is fixed!

Man, they really just don't get why this class is so useless, do they? lol. All this article did was give the PHB1 Warlock some extra powers to choose from. Which is all the Binder ever really was, anyway.

    Do YOU nod to "realism"?

I have no problem with using charisma. It represents the ability to feint and psych your opponent out. Con just represents the toll the magic is taking on your body. As anyone who is using con as a primary attack stat is going to be a magical class. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
