    Yeah. The anthropomorphic animal template from Savage Species was terrific. If a race to match your vision didn't already exist, you could easily make it. I'm hoping the Anumi from Alluria's Remarkable Races series will prove as versatile.

    No, but any character that wanted to could just buy an Everburning Torch from the PHB equipment list. More characters could see in the dark anyway. Good lighting wasn't as important.     Yeah... "house rules" always used to be tiny things, like.. "you heal your level + your con modifier when you rest" or something like that. Not something that was generaly used in character builds.
