IA: A Teacher for Laynie

"Ummm...yes? Truman, no more deus ex machinas?"

"I can't think of any."

"Well, there's always the other stupid one where our arcane nexuses have a resonance that cancels each other out, allowing you to escape, but fortunately, you wanted that 2000 gold. You two children are just annoying. I may allow Vanitri to live though. After all, his will is weak. He would make an excellent servant. Look upon me and bend your knee to the Dark Lord," the figure pulls back the cloak. It can't be, the Dark Lord is--

*The swirling mists surround Vanitri, and he finds himself back in the candlelit room.*

"You have done well, Vanitri Duskrider. You have passed the final test. Please kneel down."

"Vanitri Duskrider, in making it this far, you have shown resourcefulness, keen intellect, bravery, heart, and most of all determination. After reviewing your application and in light of your achievements in the first and final examinations, we are proud to offer you enrollment to the Academy of the Chromatic Order. Will you accept this honour?"

Vanitri rises, and quickly looks himself over. "Thank you. And it appears all the important parts made it through," he says, with a smile.

*He nods.*

"Apparently so. Whatever your three trials were in the arches, you completed each successfully. And you either tied for the highest score or broke the record on the first examination, depending on which professor you ask. Of course, your second examination was fairly run-of-the-mill, but in total, you seem to have great potential--some people just don't do well at those closed-book standardised tests."

OOC: FYI, Lady Lyrue and Princess Elayna, is it Princess Elayna Lyrue, daughter of the great Mage Queen Elayna?
