As his skin hardens, Charlarn says to Iggy, "Thanks. Let's do this for Opale." He touches the wizard to give him a protective ward (+6 resistance bonus on Iggy's next saving throw). After that, the cleric pulls Goruksblain from his belt and sizes up their opponent (applies +1 dodge bonus to AC against the creature). With the stoneskin increasing his confidence, Charlarn moves forward (to N18). He shouts at the retriever, "Let him go."

Charlarn applies a protective ward to Iggy and move forward 10' to N18, drawing an attack of opportunity. Includes Prayer penalty (1d20+14=28, 2d6+9=15) He is struck, though the Stoneskin absorbs 2/3rds of the blow. (5 damage to Charlarn, Stoneskin down to 70/80.)

Zack breaks free of the Retriever's grasp, and he makes his escape the more emphatic by chopping at the demonic construct with his scythe. He hits it for 19 damage.

Charlarn winces as stony chips of his flesh are knocked loose. He slides over to N19, trying to get closer to Ducane. He takes 3 swings (1d20+11=19, 1d20+6=23, 1d20+11=26) at the construct, hitting twice. He deals (1d8+4=12, 1d8+4=9) damage (total 21). "Go back where you came from."

Retriever (claws) v Charlarn (1d20+14=22, 2d6+9=18, 1d20+14=21, 2d6+9=19, 1d20+14=22, 2d6+9=14, 1d20+14=23, 2d6+9=15) The Retriever hits Charlarn 3 times with its claws, stripping away another 30 points of protection from the Stoneskin spell and dealing 17 damage to the Cleric.

It tries to recapture Zack, and bites him Bite v. Zack (1d20+9=26, 1d8+4=9) for 9 damage. It's grapple attempt is mediocre: Grapple Check (at -20 for single limb) (1d20+5=13).

Finally, it attempts to blast Iggy with its eye beam. Ranged Touch v Iggy (1d20+7=27, 12d6-1=44) Crit confirm on eye beam (1d20+7=14, 12d6-1=38) (Crit not confirmed due to Iggy's haste spell! Close one there.) Reflex save for 1/2 damage DC 18.
