History:

[sblock]
Kelwan hails from Citadel Adbar in the North, where he received training as an acolyte of Gorm, patron of dwarven defenders. His father, Heldon Ganak, was an adventurer who spent many years exploring and traveling throughout the North. When he was wounded many decades ago, Heldon finally retired to the Citadel. Kelwan was born shortly after, and to his father's dismay, he inherited his father's wanderlust. Kelwan admired the defenders of the Citadel, but felt that he had a higher calling than the life of a grunt, and thus he became an acolyte of Gorm. Eventually his acolyte training was complete, and it was then that Kelwan's wanderlust reared it's head. Looking about, Kelwan determined that with the mighty defenses of Citadel Adbar as strong as ever, that he was redundant. Thus, with the reluctant blessing of his father, he set out to find where he could be of the most use. But first, Kelwan wanted to set his eyes on Silverymoon, a place he had only been to once when he was very young.

Midway through his journey, he encountered a caravan that had just been attacked by goblinoid raiders. The raiders were fought off by the caravan guards, but there were several wounded humans. Kelwan called upon Gorm's aid in order to provide what healing he could, and then accompanied the caravan the rest of the way to Silverymoon. This event made it clear to Kelwan that he had chosen the right thing to do in leaving the Citadel, and that Gorm was guiding him.

After spending several days in Silverymoon, he decided that he was not fond at all of city life, as it was too crowded and too busy. Filled with confidence from the events on his previous journey, Kelwan decided that he would head south to Loudwater, and then east on the Black Road to the Dalelands, which his father had often mentioned with great fondness. In Silverymoon, Kelwan met a fellow traveler, Sparrowhawk, who was also heading to the Dalelands, Mistledale in particular. They both agreed it would be safer to travel together on the road to Loudwater. Once in Loudwater, the adventurers joined a merchant caravan heading east through Llork and then across Anauroch. Another of the caravan guards, a halfling named Liksa, was heading to the Dalelands as well, and Kelwan and Sparrowhawk told him of their plan to leave the caravan after Anauroch. While in Llork, Kelwan was careful to keep his holy symbol under his shirt, and to stay close to the caravan, out of the way of any overzealous Zhentarim. The rest of the journey was miraculously uneventful, and as the last sand dune disappeared behind the caravan, the wayfarers snuck away into the night, heading towards Mistledale ...
[/sblock]
Personality:

[sblock]
Kelwan is an optimistic and patient dwarf. He tends towards trust more than suspicion in his relations with those he perceives as good folk, almost to the point of naivete. He desires to protect people against unjust aggression, not just his own race. During his prayer times, he makes a habit of requesting that Gorm lead him to where he can do the most good, as another of his strong desires, perhaps the strongest, is that he feel useful. While Kelwan is not a missionary, he is forthright about his service to Gorm, and often invokes his name in times of relaxation, and stress. Kelwan inherited from his father a desire for exploration and new things, but he plans to eventually return to Citadel Adbar to continue his acolyte duties and become a full barakor of Gorm.
[/sblock]
Appearance:

[sblock]
Kelwan is tall for a dwarf, with his long black braided hair giving the illusion of even more height. His green eyes stand out on his young dwarven face and his full black beard is trimmed very short. His worn clothes appear well-traveled, boots scuffed and slightly worn, breeches that look they are just on the verge of developing holes, and a dark green cloak which has faded a bit. Strapped across his back is a large backpack and shield which he carries easily. On his belt is a solid dwarven-made battleaxe. Around his neck on a chain, hangs a silver symbol that looks like a mask worn during parades. In each of the masks eyeholes is a small flame that appears to flicker in the light as a real flame would.

Background[sblock]
Sparrowhawk was the worst student of Rhauntides of Deepingdale, a willful and moody apprentice sent to him as a favor for Thramnë’s father, a former companion of Rhauntides. It was not for lack of effort, or inattention that Sparrowhawk barely progressed in his studies. It seemed simply that he was a square peg trying to fit into a round hole. Rhauntides did his best, but knew that he would have to dismiss the young man after a decent amount of time. He was feeling his age, and had felt that his days of teaching were behind him, wanting only to spend time with Shaunil Tharm, his paramour and more advanced student. For his part, Sparrowhawk felt that he was failing because of Rhauntide’s preference for Shaunil. If only the old mage would focus on properly training him, he would break through his learning barriers. Before anything could occur, Rhauntides died early in the gray, bleak days of late winter, 1370. Rhauntide’s will left everything to the lord of Deepingdale, including the tower. Shaunil left with some of the master’s most prized relics. Amazed, Sparrowhawk felt a wave of failure and disgrace as he was forced to leave his place of learning and set foot on the road to home, still a young man with no prospects other than to breed horses like his father. As he set foot on the road to Battledale to head home, his feet wandered with a mind of their own, and he found himself alone, at night, near the Darkwatch. A night of terror, the protective embrace of enfolding shadows, and he found himself transported by a portal to a grove near Silverymoon. Snapping to his senses, he survived long enough to be found by a patrol from Silverymoon. Fascinated, and unable to return home a failure, he became a citizen of that city, and learned magic there from those who understood the very essence of the Weave, Mystra. For each humiliating failure as Rhauntide’s apprentice, he scored stunning successes and was able to make progress in his studies. Having completed his apprenticeship, he sought out a way home, to make a visit and claim some recognition.
[/sblock]

Personality [sblock]
While not as moody as he was as a teenager, Sparrowhawk Thramnë stalks around with a storm cloud in his thoughts. His natural dislike of being told what to do tempered by his desire to listen and learn. He lives by his wits, knowing that a prepared mind is the best survival tool in any land. He keeps a tight reign on his words, spending them like gold coins from a Sembian purse, and making sure they do double duty to convey multiple meanings and purposes. He keeps equally close his feelings, having already suffered embarrassment and humiliation. He does not want to go through that again. He has a fondness for horses, even if he dislikes their smell. Sparrowhawk is proud of being a Mistran first and a Dalesman second. He looks poorly at any who would seek to disadvantage his homeland, including Sembians and Zhents.
[/sblock]
Appearance [sblock]
Very tall is Sparrowhawk, and muscular, with the grace of a predatory beast. His tunic is dark like olivine, embroidered with devices of hidden meaning in thread of sable, and worn over a chain shirt. His buckskin breeches are of creamy leather, tucked into calf-high boots. A great cloak of worn leather streams behind him. His expression is one of quiet melancholy, mixed with some disdain; fiery glints awake at intervals in his violet eyes, and swift lines of determination hover around his mouth. Arrow-straight shoulder-length hair of darker brown is held back by iron filigree mounted with polished rams horns, curling back behind his brow. A battered, but lovingly cared-for, long sword hangs at his hip, and a stout longbow is slung across broad shoulders.

Background: Liksa 'The Mouse' Hairyfoot thought she would end up as a cook in a halfling bakery. Not pretty, quiet and
often ignored, she always found herself practically invisible. She was described as being mouse-like, both in looks and behaviour, and she also had a pet mouse, her closest friend.

Understandably, mice and head bakers don't mix, andLiksa was thrown out one afternoon, after the disappearance of a mound of bread and crumbs were discovered at her door. She had been framed by other halflings, who were suspicious of her quiet nature.Without any family, and refused by her relatives, Liksa 'disappeared'. Of course she really hadn't. All
the halfling had done was hide herself, and training her own skills to steal from the village that had rejected her so badly. She realised she had skills aplenty, and grew more confident.

Soon, she heard of dangers threatening Mistedale, and how caravans bearing spices had been attacked. The quiet village was now in a panic. Liksa knew she had to act to do what she could to save her homeland...

Description: Liksa's hair is braided and she wears rather bland clothes.

Personality & Appearance
Stor was a giant of a man, a great mane of red hair rolled to his shoulders and his steely gray eyes shone through with the glint of a true northener. His fair skin was marked with heavy tribal tattoos in dark blue-green ink, overwhich he wore a coat of roughened armor. A chain of twisting steel links with ragged looking spikes weighing the ends hangs around his waist like a horrific belt. Perhaps it is his place as an Illuskan, scorning the cowardly and weak ways of the southerners, or just that he looks mean that makes most people avoid him, however underneath the winding tattoos and armor lies a fair and decent man.

Background
When amongst his people he was told by the shaman that he must travel forth, and only when his people would once again need him, that he would return powerful enough to aid them, for if he stayed he would doom them. Taking his ways to heart, he departed upon a longship to the south, entering Waterdeep, he started on with a caravan and traveled the Black Road across the continent to Dagger Falls. Having finished his initial wayward passage on the road, he has backpacked his way through the wilderness into Mistledale, fighting for those too weak to fight for themselves, and Mistledale has become one of those places in need.
