These deceptively cute balls of fuzz, who lack any significant limbs and must therefore bounce from place to place, are actually voracious carnivores. Little more than mouths wrapped in fur, they bounce from region to region, consuming anything and everything in their path.

Combat
See thing, eat thing – that is the extent of rabite tactics. While they tend to fall into large groups wandering the countryside, they don’t particularly have any kind of a pack mentality; a rabite pack will merely attempt to surround and consume anything they see.

Skills: Rabites receive a +4 racial bonus on Jump checks.

Edit: Forgot about natural armor.

Welllll.... can't say the thought hasn't crossed my mind. :) But don't the D&D 3.5 rules say a swarm can only be made up of Tiny or smaller creatures?

How about a baby Rhabite swarm. maybe they are in a swarm untill they grow up? just a thought. Pretty funny to see a puff ball stripping the flesh from a Player Character.

Hehehehehe

Rabites! Awww, aren't they cute? Their most hideous power comes into play at night though: they sleep in plain sight, and most people are overcome with an instinctive urge to pick them up and cuddle them like teddy bears, granting them a pre-emptive free attack. There are even more versions of Rabites. In order of ascending power (according to SD3), they are: the Rabilion, the King Rabite, the Great Rabite, and the Black Rabite.

Rabilions are more vicious, pink versions of Rabites with yellow tails. Capable of summoning more rabites (of the regular version), probably a SNA-I spell-like ability that only summons small groups of rabites. 1d3 maybe? They're weak for SNA. In addition to their ability to call on more fuzzball allies, Rabilions have expanded jumping abilites while allows them to pounce on unsuspecting prey, and a peculiar Jumpspin Attack where they jump and rapidly spin to harm everything surrounding it.

King Rabites are white and blue-tailed rabites that are often mistaken for marshmallow Easter candies. They have a strange tendency to use Rapid Hopping in combat, which appears to do nothing and leaves them vulnerable, but also posess a more lethal version of the Rabilion's Jumpspin Attack called Whirlwind, which apparantly attacks everything 3 times around it. Their most infamous ability is to unleash a swarm of tiny rabites from the sky to attack, which is aptly named the Rabite Rainstorm attack. I think this is the rabite swarm you're looking for, Brasswatchman. ;)

A Great Rabite is a the bouncing green and pink-tailed version of the Rabite which is a considerable upgrade from the King Rabite. They don't call more fluffy allies to attack, but they -do- have razor-sharp teeth, and can bite up to three times in the space of 6 seconds. The greatest danger comes from their improbable ability to jump high into the air, and land on their enemies larger (more of this strange magic, no doubt) than they went up with no damage... to themselves, that is. Whatever ended up underneath is rarely that lucky. Afterwards, they revert to normal... as normal as those fluffy fuzzballs get anyways. This attack is named HugeHuge by sages, for some obvious and not-so-obvious reasons (which should remain so for the sanity of all).

The Black Rabite is a legendary creature of immense power. Basicly a Rabite with a dark, pruplish colouring, and possessed of an infernal power that the Demon Princes and Archdevils would sell their own unholy might for in an instant.

Evil in It's Cutest Form.

Feared not so much as for It's vorpral teeth, but for It's disgusting ability to chain together spells of improbable power. Uncannily tough for the bundle of fuzzy-wuzzy cuteness it is, known attributes include the ability to summon powerful fiends at a whim, retaliating against any spell with a cascade of magic, the ability to absorb unholy damage, cursing weapons (natural or otherwise) to cause only unholy damage, and fell armies using Epic spells with nothing more than a bounce and a wriggle of the tail.

Fortunately, it is just as intelligent (which is to say stupid) as the average rabite goes (like all of this overly-cute and cuddly tribe of fuzzballs), and does not seek out agression for any paticularly overt reason. Usually found in isolated and harsh locations, it bounces around in a hidden corner of some obscure labyrinth until provoked by some curious being, at which point it unleashes it's wrath on the world until stumped by another labyrinth of some sort.

Zombie rabites act much the same as regular rabites. They are in fact sometimes seem in the same packs as live rabites, cooperating as they would if alive; it seems a rabite’s hunger continues unabated, in both life and in death.

Skills: Zombie rabites receive a +4 racial bonus on Jump checks.
