Such breathtaking enthusiasm!

As I noted in the other thread, it is quite possible that there are only 15 types of Xspawn of Tiamat, and a slim chance of 10 types.

Which reminds me, the wreckspawn is missing.

It's just not adding up to much excitement for me.

MM IV = 224 pages. New format = 2 pages per monster. Assuming every page in the book is dedicated to monsters, that gives a max of 112 monsters. Realistically, several pages will be intro and it will probably have an appendix. So at best, maybe 100 monsters. By far the lowest number in a dedicated WotC monster book (even less than Monsters of Faerun!)

At least 10 types of spawn...mildly interesting
At least 3 classed creatures, probably more...completely uninteresting

Add all that to the utter disappointment of MM III and my utter contempt for the new stat block format, and call my interest dubious at best. :\

Amen to that one Shade! The new stat block is a discrace as far as I'm concerned! It's just a mess & refers you to the text too many times by default.

Although I'm all for detailed monster entries - I think that they have gone over the top with 3 pages per beastie! Too much hot air maybe? Not enough hot content mayhap?

Yet again, WotC shows that they can't come up with monster names except by combining two mundane words, typically ones that would sound evocative to a puerile 15-year-old. I wonder how much longer it'll be before we get the "Slaughterslayer Splatterspawn."
