D&D 1E Where are they Now? - 1E Fiend Folio

Shade

Monster Junkie
This is the third of a series of threads to help locate critters from old books in 3E/3.5.

Please let me know if I've missed any.

Note that I've intentionally included only official conversions at this time. I will add a second list with other sources for conversions later.

First Post
I think a lot (most?) of these, Adherer, Bonesnapper etc, are in the Necromancer games equivalent of the Monster Manual (the actual name escapes me for the moment)...

right, but i don't think Shade was counting that, or our Creature Catalog site.

Yep. I'm doing this partly as an aid for folks looking for the creatures, but also for us to know what is fair game for proposals to Dragon and Dungeon. ;)

I do intend to append the posts later with where to find the unconverted creatures in unofficial sources.

Maybe I am a huge outlier here, but I would really prefer not to see any more "official" conversions of monsters already covered by the Tome of Horrors -- unless that conversion really spun the monster in a rather new direction. And in that case, what's the point?

For my money, ToH has already nailed the "faithful" mode of conversion. So I'd rather see something new than the same ground plowed again.

[rant]And part of this just my irritation that so few d20 publishers (or WotC, for that matter) have availed themselves of the excellent conversions found in the ToH -- which is, of course, no fault of any of the good folks here in this thread.[/rant]
