Without giving a full review (not sure if I'm going to do that) I would say this-

I went with a total non-D&D person. They said that they enjoyed it, and it was a "great family movie," and it was fun. Not great, not art, but a good time.

I thought it was ... well, about as good as you're going to get for a D&D movie. It was funny, and it was charming, and it had a lot of heart, and it had a lot of great fan service if you're into D&D. In short- it was kind of like the Marvel version of a D&D movie, for all that is good and all that is bad about that.

tldr; you should see it.
