[12 to Midnight] 2nd Annual Midnight Charity Project

PINEBOX, TX - The Midnight Charity Project is an annual, month-long series of charity fundraisers sponsored by 12 to Midnight but supported by other members of the RPG publishing community. The charity project supports the Autism Research Institute (ARI), which does exactly what the name suggests. Today the incidence of babies being born autistic has been reported at 1 in every 150 children. In addition to one of our own in 12 to Midnight having a child diagnosed with autism, we've had the privilege of meeting other such gamer-parents of autistic children. Each such conversation is uplifting, humbling, and reaffirming that we're doing something important, even if what we've accomplished so far is small.

So what sort of things do we do in support of the charity? Well, we're auctioning off an authentic death certificate from our modern horror campaign setting Pinebox, Texas. We're auctioning off an autographed copy of an adventure that will be released in game stores in March. We'll be donating all the profits from a new PDF release that will be coming out later this week. Another publisher, Bards & Sages, is selling a PDF coupon book for $2. And if none of those sound appealing, you can always donate directly to ARI. This is about helping fund autism research, not bragging rights on how much we raised.

What else can you do to help? Well, in addition to donating money to the cause, we could always use help spreading the word. Many of you have personal blogs, and many of those blogs are read by people who would never see this news item on an RPG site. Please take a few minutes and help spread the news. Please link directly to the Midnight Charity Project page at least once, so that your readers can quickly and easily see a summary of charity events with relevant links. Thank you for your time and generosity.
