D&D 3E/3.5 (3.5) Zerth Cenobite?

Okay, I have found two different versions of this Psionic Monk prestige class; one in Dragon Magazine #281 and another in the Complete Psionic book. Though it seems that the one in DM 281 is out-dated (3.0 edition stuff), I am still wondering about one thing...

Which one is more balanced, which one is stronger, and which version should I pick in the end? (Thanks in advance)

Of the two, my guess is the XPH version is probably more balanced for a 3.5Ed game.

However, if your sources available are generous, check out the Licis Cenobite in Hyperconscious, a 3PP book of Psionics that was written by Bruce Cordell. Unless the Zerth has something you want in particular, the LC is generally a better option.
