Seeing everyone engage immediately, Thomas moves out of the way and to the left of the stairs.

"Excellent idea, Doren! Perhaps I can slow him down a little..."

The area around Thomas grows slightly colder as he begins his casting, and a white-blue light streaks from his hands across the room and explodes in a shimmering cloud of ice directly between the warforged and one of the metal beasts. The sudden cold seems to slow their movements a bit.

Move: to L11 or 12 (he tries to get a clear shot based on where everyone ends up)

Chilling Cloud: At-Will * Arcane, Cold, Implement
Area burst 1 within 10 squares

Attack: INT vs. FORT
Hit: Intelligence modifier (+5) cold damage
Effect: Until the end of Thomas' next turn, any enemy in the power's area takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls.

Baern climbs up the steps and immediately targets the warforged with Blackmore's gifts. He points his rod, and a searing orb of light hurls itself at the warforged.

As the fools rush in, Thorn hangs back for a moment, gauging her best response. Finally, still wearing the corporal's form, she moves up behind Baern and the strong features of Corporal Hedges melt into indistinct shadows. She then crouches down and attempts to conceal herself among the natural shadows that stretch along the floor...

(OOC - Gah, I meant to post this before, but excuses excuses, I'll do better. If it helps, InvisCastle is totally hitting me up with bad dice karma. :) Init: 12. Minor action to activate Shade Form. Move action to L9, and make Hide check using Baern's cover (which is normally impossible, but which Shade Form specifically allows). Hide check: 15. Sigh. :) Oh, and trade standard action for another minor to put a Shroud on the warforged dude.)

The Warforged turns his attention to Torath and finds himself faced with a band of heroes. Squeal's trident falls short, but Thomas and Baern focus fire on the enemy, scorching his iron plating and producing a thin layer of frost in the cracks of his armor. The iron soldier pulls his sword out of the guard's torso with a sickening crunch and roars.

"Now you too will fall silent at the edge of Crag Claymore's blade!"

The mechanical beasts lash out at nearby enemies, maneuvering around the battlefield as if they were programmed with battle tactics specifically in mind. The first monster jumps out at Torath, but its jagged metal teeth scratch against his armor and it loses its grip. The first guard, seeing his chance to strike, brings his sword down heavily against the dog, but the pain from his wound shakes his concentration, and he falters.

The second beast bites the leg of the nearby guard and tears into him. The guard lets out a scream while he tries to shake the dog off. The beast loosens its grip and the soldier smashes the pommel of his sword into the monster's canine muzzle, knocking some of its teeth out.

Crag Claymore, the warforged officer, raises his sword in response to Torath's holy challenge. Claymore brings his sword down into the chinks of Torath's armor, and although his swing is slowed by Thomas's icy enchantment, the attack manages to knock one of Torath's shoulder plates loose. The warforged scoffs.

"You dare challenge me? Fine! Try to hit me, whelp!"

Thy wounds are healed!
Torath parries and swings as he moves into a better postion to take on the two foes. When he sees an opening he thrusts his blade at Crag, but the creatures body is tough and there isn't a mark on the warforge. Fustrated Torath again swings and parries as he looks for a weakness in the creatures defenses.

Doren sees Torath take the spot it was going to rush into and instead takes the long dash around touching the wounded guard on his shoulder before moving to the warforge's right side as he strikes out at him with holy vengeance!
