Since I just picked up and read this book off the new arrivals shelf, last night, I'm sure very few people have read it yet. But what the hey, anybody else got it yet?
I wasn't expecting much from this book, after gloomily finishing Crimson Talisman through sheer willpower alone, but I really enjoyed The Binding Stone. It's easily as good as City of Towers, if not better. The Binding Stone, like City of Towers and Marked for Death is also part 1 of a trilogy, rather than a standalone like Crimson Talisman and the upcoming Orb of Xoriat.
For the record, I enjoyed City of Towers, snoozed through Crimson Talisman, and thought Marked for Death was an uneven, hit and miss experience. (But not enough so that I won't give the sequel a chance) Reading the Eberron novel line has been interesting to me, since I stopped reading FR/Dragonlance novels years ago, and it's interesting being able to stay on top of all the novels before I'm buried in them.
