ZEITGEIST 5e Martial Scientist technique in Adventure 5

Hi folks,
It looks like the write-up for the Martial Scientist technique for the 5e version of Adventure 5 is, perhaps, a holdover from Pathfinder. I'm not sure what a "feint" should be in 5e. The closest thing I see is the fighter maneuver, but that would seem an odd choice.

"You can end this trance to feint on your turn against one target in range (no actions required by you), making a Charisma (Deception) check opposed by the target’s Wisdom (Insight) check. If the target is an aberration, celestial, dragon, elemental, fey, fiend, monstrosity, or undead, you have advantage."

Any thoughts?

Okay. Well, it probably won't be as interesting, but in the Adventures in ZEITGEIST setting guide, Dale's martial scientist thesis teaches the Savant trick 'Mindful Reason Aegis.' It's one of the more standard normal tricks:

Mindful Reason Aegis. When you would fail an Intelligence or Wisdom saving throw , you can roll 1d4 and add it to your saving throw. You know how much the roll failed by before deciding whether to use this aegis.
