A Knight in Ptolus - options?

One of my characters in my Ptolus campaign is a knight. Since the Mounted Combat doesn't really fit with the urban setting, does anybody have any ideas on a replacement ability? Should I just give him a bonus feat?

I don't really want to stick him with something he won't really use. The chances of them leaving the city (not counting going under it  ) are pretty slim.

Some bonus feat that fits the class, like shield specialisation (PHB II) or heavy armor optimisation (Races of Stone) would be my first suggestion.

Both are fairly good feats though...

My question is, can you make it work in the urban setting? Chases to run down chaositech mutants, Shuul agents or to escape the Necropolis at night? What about a massive mounted combat fight down under the city somewhere in a series of caverns? Maybe even with drow on hasted spiders or something. Mounted combat comes up about once every four encounters only when you have a character that has the ability.

That said, what about asking the player? Allowing a bonus feat is a good resolution because it puts the choice in his hands.

Bonus Feat is the most obvious answer as others have said; but have you considered suggesting a small character that could have a riding dog? That would work in an urban setting just fine. What level is the campaign? Could he have a more exotic mount (like a gryphon or pegasus) that showed up periodically? Or how about a one of a kind Shuul hoverbike? All of which would depend on the campaign, level, and prefrences of the player - but some out of the box thinking is appropriate in a Ptolus campaign.
