Conuld runs east so that he won't have to fire past the shoulders of his comrades. Looking down at his crossbow, he realises it's still unloaded. Shrugging, he points his finger, barks a few words, and instead launches an icy white ray at the monster.

OOC: moving 30' due east; casting Ray of Frost; attack 1d20+5-4=20, damage 1d3=2

OOC: Yeah, I'm not sure if it does have reach, but it gives me an excuse to do it, which is in character

Shadya charges forward and cuts the creature's already well lacerated hide. (No reach)

Kurgahz also charges, but is not successful. (grease expired)

Conuld moves east and casts ray of frost, which hits the creature.

A look of concentration comes across the creature's face. It begins to shudder, and almost explodes into another set of images, but this time Shadya swipes at it with one of her blades, and the images collapse back into the central creature. (Creature failed DC 17 concentration check) The look of concentration is replaced by one of worry. After a brief hesitation, the creature spins around and springs away. (Provoking AoO's from Kurgahz and Shadya, AC +4 for mobility, AC +1 vs. Kurgahz for dodge.)
