Yeah, it might be a bit too dangerous, we play more for the playing rather than the DM vs Players aspect. If they die, everyone pretty much has to get back in their cars and go home, so PC death doesn't happen much. So having it based on a bad roll when you only have 2 PCs is rather disruptive. I usually have them retreat and regroup rather than fight to the death (or whatever happens to undead haha) I might take a look though, especially Return to the Tomb of Horrors.
