The creature that attacks scores two more solid hits on Grog, including a bite attack (4 damage). During these blows, grog manages to strike the deathblow upon the creature bringing it low. However, as his victory passes he begins to feel deftly ill, his wound from the bite attack feels like his flesh has been turned to mush, feeling weak and soft.

Kreepto wails from the back of the party, "Crazy! It's crazy! Don't let them near Kreepto. Don't let them near Kreepto! Eiaaaaa!" His voice switches from words of fairly understandable common to a more feral yipping tongue with a hint of draconic.

Draconic:
"These caves are screaming. It's going to eat us all..."

Listen Checks: (all passed) You can all hear the grunting of some sort of voice in the far distance of the corridor. It yells in giant,

Giant:
"Gorges, intruders. Devour them flesh and bone! Hurry now, before they can flee."

Immediately thereafter there is a burst of light visible in the distance of the cavern, like a small explosion. Two gutteral screams of pain start and are quickly quenched in flames. The flame burst disappears as quickly as it came and Kreepto begins to rave some more, now in common again.

"The fire, these mountains are of fire. The mountain is angry at us, it is going to eat Kreepto in rocky fire!"

Jaret examines Grog and Jagos (Heal 7) to determine which is more in need of his last Cure Light Wounds of the day. The less severely injured of the two receives a Cure Minor Wounds (1pt). So focused is he on taking care of them that he ignores everything else until he's done. Jaret keeps his lantern lit until he is done with the wounded.

Jagos took 5 points of damage in that last encounter and Grog took 4 points. Your heal check result of 14 should be plenty enough to discern that Jagos took the worse hits. However, you also believe that Grog may have contracted a disease from the creature that bit him, and his wound is going to get worse over time if nothing is done.

Your result for your cure light wounds spell was 4 hit points, I'm assuming applied to Jagos but if you would rather target Grog that is fine.

Marl goes up to Kreepo, grabs him by the shoulder with one hand, and with the other, slaps him a couple of times across the face.

"Calm down!" he hisses at the kobold. He continues, slowly and quietly, "Now, what do you mean by rocky fire? And what do you think happened up ahead?"

Kunst shakes his head, speaking to Kreepto in draconic
"the fire is not going to eat you my little friend, I would be more worried about whatever that larger grunting creature is."

Is the creature still around?

OOC: I feel Kunst is particularly unsuited for this sort of thing. heheh

Kreepto doesn't take kindly to being slapped around and takes the opportunity to return the favor with bites from his rough reptilian teeth. "The fire and the rock are one in the mountain. The fire melts the rock and the rock cools the fire. Kreepto knows that must have been the fire melting through the rock! This is why Kreepto did not want to dig up! Digging up away from the cold stone leads into the fire stone!"

Marl lets go of Kreepto when he tries to bite back, throwing up his hands. " You think the fire's coming this way?"

He will collect his thrown dart and his crossbow, looking up the passage to see if there is any sign of an approaching glow.

"What was that voice from up ahead saying? Anyone know what language that was?"

"Maybe we should check the source of that voice and see whats happening here," Vanadan says softly. "There must be some reason why they are digging up despite the risks." ...In other words there must be something worth the risk, he thinks.
