Throughout the day (especially while hunting) Ayla listens carefully to her surroundings, hoping to improve her listening skills for when the SOL leave once again to help others in need. Climbing into the trees can be difficult, but with some help from Justine and Sheila, it slowly becomes easier and easier. While on this expedition, Ayla makes good use of her survival skills seeing as she left with no rations, and has to hunt for food. She also learns how to spot food (among other things) faster and faster as her searching and spotting abilities. The Two weeks are very strenuous and hard, but Ayla gets a lot out of it, and even thinks about staying back, on her own for a few days to see if she can survive and be alright on her own. After a lot of consideration, she decides to ask Sheila. “Sheila, I was wondering if once we go back, could I stay in the forest by myself for a few days, to practice my new skills some more and see if I can survive on my own? Thought she knows others will be in the forest watching her, she hopes that she can practice her skills/abilities without anyone actively helping her/watching over her.
