ChatGPT helped me make the Injunction 😂

The Great Injunction

Introduction

The Great Injunction is a set of rules established for all wizards within the confines of Wyre and its dependencies. Its purpose is to protect the natural order and balance of magical forces in this realm. These rules shall be inviolable and enforceable by the Enforcer and upheld by the Claviger.

The Rules

The following rules shall apply to all wizards within the confines of Wyre and its dependencies:

  1. Purpose of Magic: The practice of magic shall be reserved for the sole purposes of personal discovery and enlightenment, the protection of life and property, and the betterment of society as a whole. Magic shall not be used to further any political or temporal ends, particularly on the battlefield during times of war.
  2. Harmful Use of Magic: Except in acts of self-defense, no wizard may use their power to cause harm or destruction to any living being or the environment. The use of magic to harm animals, either domestic or wild, is strictly prohibited. Wizards should take care to avoid any spell or practice that may harm the environment or wildlife.
  3. Protection of Magical Creatures: The protection of magical creatures and their habitats is also considered an important part of protecting the natural order and balance of magical forces. Wizards should refrain from using their powers to harm or exploit magical creatures and should work to preserve their habitats and ecosystems.
  4. Auxiliary Use of Magic: Wizards may use their power in an auxiliary capacity, so long as such actions do not directly or indirectly intervene in the affairs of others. Scrying and other Divinations are permitted.
  5. Free Will and Natural Course of Events: No wizard shall use their powers to influence the free will of others, nor shall they manipulate the natural course of events, for temporal or political means.
  6. Transportation of Soldiers and Weapons: The transportation of soldiers or weapons using magical means is strictly forbidden. Travel is permitted, but wizards must be mindful not to use their powers to bypass existing laws or regulations.
  7. Creation and Use of Magical Items: The creation or use of magical items or artifacts that possess dangerous or destructive powers must be reported to the Enforcer, who shall decide on their appropriate usage and storage.
  8. Enforcer and Claviger: The Enforcer shall have the power to enforce The Great Injunction, and any breach of its rules shall be met with swift and decisive action. The Claviger, a sentient and all-knowing tablet, shall serve as the official record keeper of all injunction violations.
  9. Appeals: Any appeals to The Great Injunction shall be made directly to the Enforcer, whose decision shall be final and binding.
  10. Inclusion: The Great Injunction is a magical détente which transcends all considerations of race, gender, power, and alignment. It is intended to prevent the escalation of magical warfare and the casual employment of wizards to fling "fireballs" around upon the battlefield. Grey areas exist, but wizards must be cautious not to push the limits too far.

Penalties

Failure to adhere to the rules of The Great Injunction may result in severe penalties, up to and including permanent revocation of a wizard's magical powers. The Enforcer shall have the power to determine the appropriate level of punishment for any breach of The Great Injunction.

Conclusion

The Great Injunction is a set of rules designed to ensure the responsible use of magic by all wizards within Wyre and its dependencies. Its primary purpose is to protect the natural order and balance of magical forces and to prevent the escalation of magical warfare. Wizards who violate The Great Injunction risk severe penalties, including the permanent loss of their magical powers.

I asked ChatGPT a question. Good thing for Mostin it didn't exist then. :)
In Dungeons & Dragons edition 3.5, if a wizard cast Haste while under the effects of Time Stop, the Haste spell would not take effect until after the Time Stop spell had ended. This is because Time Stop creates a temporary time loop in which the caster is able to act freely, but time does not progress outside of the loop. During this time, spells and effects that have a duration would be paused, and would resume their effects after the Time Stop spell endsTherefore, if a wizard cast Haste during Time Stop, the spell would still use up a spell slot or prepared spell, but its effects would not take place until the Time Stop spell ends, at which point the wizard would gain the benefits of both spells.
